Algebra 1 PAP Name ______________ Period____ Unit 8 Notes and Assignments Notes and Assignment Packet: You will be given a packet at the beginning of each unit. You will only receive ONE copy of this and you are responsible to keep track of it. If you misplace it, you must print your own from Google Classroom. Unit Agenda: You will also receive a colored unit agenda for each packet. This first day of the unit, you should look over the objectives and create a goal for yourself that you wish to accomplish. As each objective is taught, you should rate yourself and identify a growth opportunity. This can be done in class or at home. After we do test corrections, you are to complete the unit reflection. Homework/Assignments: You must stay on top of your assignments. These will be checked (can happen unannounced) the day after they are assigned, the day of the quiz, or the day of the test. You should be prepared either way! It is your responsibility to give yourself and accuracy grade for each assignment. On test day, you will be expected to turn in a completed agenda, packet, and test review. Absent Work: If you are absent, it is your responsibility to watch the video and complete the missing notes. STAAR Practice: At the end of each unit packet, there is a STAAR practice. These questions must be completed by that unit’s review day. Practice : Quadratics

Solve the quadratic equation using any method. Round your solutions to the nearest hundredth, if necessary. Write which method you chose to use for each problem. 1. 6x² - 216 = 0 2. 8x² = 56 3. 5x² - 10x = 0 4. x² + 8x + 7 = 0 5. x² - 6x + 1 = 0 6. -9x² + 10x = 5 7. -10x² = -50 8. x² - 16x = -64 9. x² + 3x - 8 = 0 10. x² = 14x – 49 11. x² + 6x = 14 12. -5x² + x = 13
