Alfred Angelo Unveils its 2014 Bridal Collection

-Celebrating its 80th Year, Alfred Angelo’s Latest Collection Takes Inspiration from Vintage Designs with a Modern Twist-

Fort Washington, Pa. – December 9, 2013 – Alfred Angelo, America’s oldest and largest family-owned and operated bridal company, has rolled out its complete 2014 bridal collection worldwide. In 2014, Alfred Angelo will celebrate 80 years of dressing brides, and its latest collection celebrates the company’s history and heritage with design influences of past trends. “I grew up in the bridal industry watching my mother create Alfred Angelo gowns that are still beloved today,” said Michele Piccione, creative director of Alfred Angelo. “This collection is a nod to her and those iconic looks I’ve always admired.” Some key trends from Alfred Angelo’s 2014 collection include:

Form-fitted gowns with intricate beadwork – Curve-hugging satin gowns with sparkling beadwork and detailed backs (Style #884) pay homage to 1930s fashion icons such as Jean Harlow and Greta Garbo.

Vintage-inspired lace– Soft, lace gowns with romantic details such as dropped waists (#8506), open backs (Style #8528) and flutter sleeves (Style #2437) nod to the 1940s.

Return of the ball gown – Ultra-feminine ball gowns with cinched waists and full skirts (Style #2450) capture the 1950s bride. There are accessories available such as sheer capelets and lace sleeve add-ons reminiscent of Grace Kelly.

Alternative bridal looks such as pants and short skirts – Short-and-chic dresses (Style #2428) and lace pantsuits (Styles #2422-#2426) prove that anything goes; similar to the late 1960s, early 1970s when brides really pushed the envelope.

Gowns with color – Brides can “think pink” (Style #8527), glitter in gold (Style #882), or personalize their dresses with one of 62 colors. The 2014 “Dream in Color” collection (Style #890) pays homage to the color-paneled Alfred Angelo gowns first introduced in the late 1990s.
