He was signed by the Mariners right out of high school for the shortstop position but then got traded to the Texas Rangers for the biggest deal of that time. The deal was a 10 year, 252 million dollar contract. He was named MVP in 2003 and got traded to the New York Yankees where he switched from Shortstop to third baseman. In 2005 and 2007 he had MVP seasons with the Yankees. Also in 2007, he became part of the 500 homerun club. In 2009 he confessed of taking steroids in 2001-2003 of his life. That only affects those years so his other awards before and after that were not accomplished from steroids. In 2009 his team the New York Yankees mad it to the playoffs and won the World Series. A-rod has been Alex Rodriguez’s nickname for as long as he has been in the league. A-rod still plays baseball for the New York Yankees today. He has had one divorce in his life and has gone out with Madonna.
