Hydro board was a research project on personal water craft. It began with the problem of gas powered motors and the negative effects it has caused to our environment and the ecosystem.
The solution: To design an electric driven water board that evoked the feeling of surfing and wakeboarding, but provided the combined mobility of jet-skiing.
Inside The ShellLayout of Internal System Mock-Up
A foam insert acts as a main sealant case between the drive system and water
Two water proof electric motors provide drive to the propulsion system using two individual carbon fiber composite belts. This allows for a more basic system without the need for complex pulleys.
24 volt Lithium ion battery cellallows 8 hours of riding time
Formed tool insert for belt maintenance and angle adjustment
As the Belt drives the propulsion cylinder the tip intake vortexes water through the drive shaft Two 6hp marine brushless
electric motors mounted in bedding platform

Hydro Propulsion Development
First Developed system based off of original Archimedes Principal
Although Channeled and contained within a closed system, it lacked pressurization for increased water pressure
Re-amped Structure encloses the turbine as a housing shell. The internal vessel is locked into place with ceramic ball bearings.
Low pitch and geometry curve cause problematic water resistance
High pitch and geometry curve funnel inward and outward generating less water resistance

WATER FLOW
How It WorksBelt Driven Hydro Propulsion System
Narrow contoured paths guide the flow of water into the spinning hydro turbine pump
As the board thrusts forward the water is forced into the channels pulling the tale-end of the board under the water. As a result, the front end of the board is lifted up causing air pockets to form under the stabilizing wings. This results in hydro-planing lowering surface drag.

Understanding and Comprehending Little things make a difference
Vacuum system. Door latch. Self Containment pressure system. Cyclone enhanced drive system. Awesome see-through container. Archimedes Screw. Over-all user experience. New age science. Vehicle maintenance port. multi-pack service stations. Interior cleaning and washing. Steam clean ports.
Touch screen payment interface and feature options
The system as whole when fludded with consumers still remains phisically cleanand and uncluttered. Open space for individuals to keep their privacy is always high priority when dealing with public spaces. Safty and comfort attracts, cluttered and stuffy distracts.

SKETCHES AND IDEATIONS
Exploring radial cutting systems and how they might articulate
Thinking blades... interlocking replacible blade system
Chainsaw like system
Floating blade system spins inside trimmimg with worm-gear drive.
Going back to the basics, linier cutting dynamics utilizing existing hardware and off the shelf technology.
Guiding prongs help guide blade into cutt releasing potential strain on wrist
Pruning and hedge trimming tools are limited in cutter size and require pure strength of hand to get the job finished, becoming a major problem to our hands and joints. Continuous applied pressure within the base of the hand causes damage to our median nerve, bruising the transverse carpal ligament, leading to Carpal tunnel, arthritis, and sever pain.
Inflamed median nerve: Caused by squeezing cutter handle
Relaxed nerve: Distribution of applied force with trigger and thumb lock focuses pressure along fingers and thumb.
Cutter angle lies parallel with wrist and forearm focusing applied work on body and shoulder
Cutter angle forces wrist to conform to cutter focusing applied work on wrist

INJECTION MOLDING ANALYSIS
Diagnostics form a mold flow simulator on the first run mock-up helps guide basic understanding of needed geometry
Warp and strengths analysis shows the model needs more support ribs and structure within the inner paneling
Additional draft needs to be added to all internal and external verticies for proper execution in mold release Initial shelling on the mock-up is much to thin.
With additional added support, the shelling needs to be thickened substantially. Minimum thickness for parts endurance .07in
