ALCO S-4 (Switching Loco)
The ALCO S-4 were 1,000 horsepower (746 kW)
diesel electric switchers produced by ALCO
between June 1949 and August 1957.
A few examples are preserved today.
The S-4 is a medium sized loco, at over 1.6M long
it is ideally suited to use at clubs or by individuals
for light passenger hauling.
It is built to 1/8th scale, 1.5” to the foot.
This loco is designed to be ridden behind rather
than in.
This loco is offered in 2HP and 4HP versions
