Photo montage

This is a montage of my favourite CD covers.

Arctic MonkeysI chose this album cover as part of my montage, because it is simple. It shows a man smoking who is rugged and looks like an average man that is plainly dressed. This shows he doesn’t much effort with his appearance or really care what he looks like and also that he doesn’t follow trends or like fashion. The photo is in black and white with a plain background, this portrays that the band are quite simple and un-materialistic, just like their fans probably are. He also doesn’t appear to be posing, this shows that the band don’t really care about their image, just about their music. They have kept their cover simple, the only fancy thing about the cover is the band name.

Jamie TThis album cover shows the artistto be a manic and rebellious, asthere is a lot going on in the photo, this would therefore appeal to his target audience which are generally teenagers. The name of the album is repeated several times adding to the Chaos. Most of the objects in the image are music orientated e.g. guitars, a keyboard, records and music posters showing that he

really cares about his music.

The CourteenersI chose to add this album cover to my montage because it is really simple, It’s all in black and white with only one bit of colour, the band may have chose this cover design to attract the audiences attention by making it stand out. No members of the band are shown on the cover, they might have done this to attract the listeners attention to their music as opposed to the image of the band.

Dizzee RascalThis album cover is mainly black and yellow, the artist could have done this to represent danger, and that his music is edgy. The album cover shows Dizzee sitting in a corner, which goes with the album title “Boy In Da Corner”. The colloquialism in the album title would appeal to his target audience of mainly late teenagers.

The StreetsOn The Streets album cover it features a man at run down bus stop, the scenery behind the bus stop quiet plain, the band may have chosen to have this as an album cover to show that they are a band singing about normal people and every day life other than some of the other types of music in the charts. They could have also chosen this cover to show that

they don’t care about materialism. The band name is featured in a cigarette lighter, this could be to show the band are a bit rebellious and to dislike rules.
