and they didn’t used to have a sales tax (like VAT)
In fact they got a hand out of about $880 per adult
from the Oil Industry
towards their cost of living there.
Thanks to the Oil Industry Alaska has the highest average household income of any US state.
There is a link between being a victim of violent crime and wealth
So by being wealthier the people are safer
But Native Americans suffer the most!
