Day 1, Tuesday, June 8…. Depart Minneapolis for our non-stop afternoon flight to Anchorage. Arrive in Anchorage and transfer to our downtown hotel. Day 2, Wednesday, June 9…. Board the luxurious domed rail cars of the McKinley Explorer to Denali for a two-night stay at the McKinley Chalets. Free time tonight to explore the chalet shops & dining or relax by their outdoor fire pits. Day 3, Thursday, June 10…. Venture deep into Denali on the Tundra Wilderness Tour. This is untouched nature, so watch for caribou, wolves, foxes, moose, eagles, dall sheep and grizzly bears. If Mother Nature cooperates, hopefully see Denali too. Day 4, Friday, June 11…. Another day of discovery ahead! We’ll board an Explorer motor coach for a journey to Fairbanks. Take a step back in time to pan for gold at historic Gold Dredge 8. Tonight you’re in for a local treat - the Alaska Salmon Bake & Golden heart Review Show. Imagine fresh salmon and halibut (prime rib also an option) cooked over a wood fire in the shadow of Alaskan pines. (D) Day 5, Saturday, June 12…. Our journey continues as we board a short flight to Dawson City, in the Yukon. We will enjoy two nights in Dawson City where you can stroll the wooden boardwalks to visit old time gambling halls, grocery stores & restaurants. Day 6, Sunday, June 13…. Choose to cruise the Yukon River aboard the sternwheeler Klondike Spirit. Enjoy a nostalgic journey aboard the only operating paddlewheeler in the Yukon. Sit back and relax while you enjoy the beautiful landscape and a narrated tour about the story of Dawson City, the historical site of Moosehide and the Klondike Gold Rush. Day 7, Monday, June 14…. Day 9, Wednesday, June 16…. Today we cruise the glacier-carved fjords, snowcapped mountains and majestic icebergs of Glacier Bay with a narration by a park Service ranger. It’s a world of frozen scenery and rugged wonder. Words cannot describe the crystal clear, blue waters and dynamic scenery. (B,L,D) Day 10, Thursday, June 17…. Today explore the unique Alaskan port of Ketchikan. Take an optional float plane trip to majestic Misty Fjords, go salmon fishing, take a duck tour or take an optional city tour by coach or walking tour. This evening we sail toward Vancouver. (B,L,D) Day 11, Friday, June 18…. Relax at sea and enjoy a full day of scenic Inside Passage cruising. Watch for whales! Be as active or as lazy as you wish. Enjoy activities, entertainment and dining. (B,L,D) Day 12, Saturday, June 19…. Our Alaskan adventure comes to a close. We transfer to Vancouver International Airport for our return flight to Minneapolis. (B)
