ETAPS to ALTS Migration Process

In order to begin using ALTS, each designated agent must migrate their ETAPS account to the new ALTS environment. Note: Migration is not necessary if you are a licensing office employee or a Department of Revenue (DOR) employee. If you need assistance, please contact the Motor Vehicles Division at (334) 242-9000 or visit the following link: www.support.revenue.alabama.gov. Click “Submit a request” and select “Motor Vehicle—Auto Dealer Licensing”.

You will go to: https://mvtrip.alabama.gov in order to migrate your ETAPS account and begin us ing ALTS. Click on “ETAPS Mig rat ion” icon.

You will receive the following screen. Please type in your existing ETAPS username and password.

The system will validate your account against ETAPS. You will be prompted to provide your first

and last name, email address and new password. You may also change your username at this

point if desired.

If you are an administrator of your organization in ETAPS and another administrator has not

already migrated your organization, you will also be asked to verify your bank account and

trusted party information. If available, this information will be migrated from ETAPS for you to

verify.

After providing all the requisite information, please click on the “Migrate Account” button at the bottom of

the screen.

You will receive the following success message letting you know that your account has been successfully migrated. You will then be redirected to ALTS for you to log in with your new credentials.

If there are any issues with the migration process, you will receive one of the following messages.

If you are a licensing office employee or DOR employee, you will receive the following message if attempting to migrate your ETAPS account.

You are now ready to begin using ALTS.

Please note:

• Any applications started in ETAPS must be completed in ETAPS.

• Licensing officials’ registration system interfaces will continue to work with ALTS. If youhave any issues, please contact your system vendor.

Dealer management systems will continue to work with ALTS. Please contact your systemvendor if you have any issues.

For Internet Explorer 11

If the ALTS site doesn’t look like you expect it to—images might not appear, menus might be out of place, and text could be jumbled together. This might be caused by a compatibility problem between Internet Explorer and the ALTS site. Sometimes this can be fixed by removing the site from your Compatibility View list.

To add a site to the Compatibility View list

1. Open Internet Explorer, select the Tools button , and then select Compatibility View settings.

2. Under Websites you’ve added to Compatibility View, click on any “Alabama.gov” sites in your

list and click on “Remove” on the right.

Troubleshooting

If you have issues with the migration process, delete your browsing history and internet files. If you continue to have issues, try using Google Chrome to migrate to ALTS.

Instructions on clearing your cache and deleting internet files

For Internet Explorer

Step 1: Click on the gear wheel in the top right corner of the Internet Explorer web browser.

Step 2: Click on Internet Options in the menu

Step 3: Click on delete to delete browsing history.

Step 4:

Select Temporary Internet files and website files and Cookies and website data

Step 5: Click on Delete

Step 6: On the bottom of the page the browser notifies you when the browser is cleared.

Step 7: Click on Settings

Step 8: Click on View files.

Step 9: Select all of the temporary internet files, press delete onyour keyboard and select Yes to delete

the selected Cookies.

Step 10:

The files will be deleted. Click OK.

Step 11: Click on Apply, Then OK to exit.

Logging In

To access the ALTS system, go to the MVTRIP site at https://mvtrip.alabama.gov. Enter your username and password combination and click the ALTS icon.

If you have lost your username or password, you can click on the links at the bottom of the MVTRIP login prompt and your user name or temporary password will be emailed to the email address on file. You can also set a new password by answering your security questions.

Homepage

After logging in to MVTRIP and selecting the ALTS icon, you will be presented with the ALTS homepage. This screen contains News and Alerts which contains important updates and alerts, pending applications and application search options. Common Actions are listed at the bottom of the homepage which includes starting a new application, interactive reports and submitting applications.

Start a New Title Application

You can click Start a New Vehicle Application on the homepage to begin an application for a certificate of title.

Wizard or Quick Entry Settings

There are two different application layouts. In the Wizard style, you will be guided step by step through the application process. In the single page style, application information will be entered on a single page entry. You can select your preference under My Settings.

Submit Existing Applications

You can click Submit Existing Applications on the homepage to submit pending applications. You can select the applications ready to be submitted (or select Application Number at the top to select all applications) and click Submit Selected Applications. Reports can be exported as a Microsoft Excel (CSV) spreadsheet or a PDF.

Interactive Reports

You can click Interactive Reports on the homepage to view and create detailed reports about your applications, activity, etc. Select the report and enter the date range. The EFT Report list the applications submitted for a specified date range. The Application Status Report details the status of the applications entered by your organization for specified time period.

Common Actions

You can click “Actions” on the homepage to request a hold, track the status of a pending application, review rejected applications, search existing titles, etc.

Update Existing Applications

Edit Saved Applications

You can click “Edit” under “Actions” on the homepage. This will allow you to edit applications that are saved in progress by your organization.

Void Applications

Click “Void” under “Actions” on the homepage. This will allow you to void or void & clone an application before it is submitted.
