The Al Wadi Nature Reserve is home to a new pilot project, the Heritage Forest, a first for Ras Al Khaimah, which aims to inspire guests to take part in preserving the environment. Guests of Al Wadi Desert can plant a Ghaf tree (national tree of the UAE) in the Heritage Forest

Guests can also etch their memories for generations to come by naming their tree and opting for a wooden signage display that will remind all visitors of their valuable initiative. Guests will be provided with Ghaf, Sidr and other indigenous saplings along with a shove, gloves and watering can.

Can the desert be a better spot for fishing? First-timers or seasoned experts looking for a new adventure can fish in the resort’s man-made watering hole replete with freshwater red-breasted tilapia. The Nature Guide provides fishing rods, tackle, bait, folding chairs and nets. Children have the opportunity to learn fishing in a fun way as our Nature Guide leads them through a signature experience that will broaden their imagination and knowledge about species and showcase the importance of habitat conservation & species interdependence, while creating special moments for parents and children alike.

Adding to this memorable experience, is the option of a gourmet waterside picnic for two or four, with non-alcoholic beverages or champagne. A tailor-made menu for kids depending on their age, is also on o�er.

With the sun setting, riding a camel on the desert dunes is a stunning and breathtaking experience. Set out in the late afternoon and meander through picturesque valleys in an oasis, which spans over 500 hectares, before you reach the pinnacle point on the reserve.

The Arabian camel safari the authentic way to experience the desert and immerse yourself into the history of Bedouin travelers, in a journey through the valleys and dunes of Al Wadi Nature Reserve.

Shortly before sunset, guests disembark at the base of a dune, and are served sundowners as the sun sets, allowing them to take in the beauty of the Arabian

desert, and experience a key part of the deep heritage of the UAE.

Ritz Rangers is a unique way for the little ones to get the most out of our enriching reserve. In a fun way, youngsters can learn useful skills and enhance their understanding of and respect for nature. The program will o�er young guests the chance to absorb the most out of this enriching nature reserve and at the same time learn some valuable skills which will deeply enhance their understanding of the importance of and respect for the nature and the environment.

Becoming a Ritz Ranger will require a keen sense of learning, a willingness to try new

things and the ability to demonstrate a few essential outdoor survival skills. Kids are also encouraged to explore the surroundings safely.

The programme includes three half days of a wide range of activities at the Ritz Club, supervised by our Activity O�cers. Each Ritz Ranger will receive a badge and a certificate.
