Dear Colleague,

The recent discovery of hydrocarbons is a significant step towards the deepening of our knowledge and understanding of the offshore geology in the east of Oman. The results from this well are vital for the future development of this block. This discovery confirms the high quality and value of the Oman asset. There has been a call to attract foreign investment in offshore blocks for a number of concessions offered by the Omani government for exploration and development.

With the Sultanate’s offshore industry rapidly growing, Offshore Development Oman 2014 will play an important role in the expanding market and provides a conference dedicated to the advancement of the offshore industry, whilst addressing technological challenges associated with safely and cost effectively developing oil and gas resources.

ODO 2014 will provide a detailed analysis on the , design, engineering and construction, operation and maintenance, risk and safety parameters associated with various types of offshore projects. With unique challenges in each of these fields, this event will look at the best platform to support the requirements of the field, and the engineering and technological requirements to establish and operate.

ODO 2014, the region’s premiere technical forum focused exclusively on the Sultanate’s offshore oil and gas industry, will showcase the most innovative technologies and ground-breaking solutions within the offshore exploration and production industry. The conference will deliver the latest technological innovations, solutions and lessons learned from leading industry professionals and will focus on the process of managing major projects with its inherent cost implications.

This conference is focused on the increasing interest in the Sultanate’s emerging hydrocarbon potential. Recent drilling offshore success in Oman is spurring interest from major operators and independents alike. ODO 2014 will discuss the strategic, commercial, technology and regulatory issues that will shape the future of the development and commercialization of the deep and ultra-deepwater oil and gas industry in the Sultanate of Oman.

Kind regards,Maneesh NairConference Director - Offshore Development Oman 2014
