The simplest way to intense shower pleasure. Hansgrohe Showerpipesmark a new trend in the modern bathroom; sleek, aesthetically designedoverhead showers that produce a warm, comforting shower rain.

Whether it is an installation in a new bathroom or an upgrade, allShowerpipes are quickly and easily installed.


“ A minimum of 220 litres of stored coldwater is required.

“ The supply of water from the cold waterstorage cistern to the hot water cylindershould be through a 28mm pipe.

“ The minimum size of the hot watercylinder should be 36” x 18”. Whenconsidering the size of the hot watercylinder take into account the number of people showering one after another.As a rough guide a five minute showerwill use fifty litres of hot water.

“ To prevent air being drawn into thesystem, good plumbing practices shouldbe observed. The diagram shows ourrecommendation for draw off of hotwater from the cylinder. Please contactour technical department for furtherassistance.

“ Always use 22mm pipework before, andafter, the pump, even when connecting to a½” thermostat. If 15mm pipes are usedthe water flow will be severely restrictedand the performance of the shower willbe adversely affected.

“ In order not to lose water pressure, keeppipe runs to a minimum. Rather thanmake a bend, sweep the pipe run. If abend is necessary, use a purpose madeelbow. The greater the number of bendsthe greater the pressure loss, which mayresult in the pump not activating.

“ The flexible connections provided withthe pump must be used. The pump mustnot be bolted down to the floor, but sitedon the resilient pads provided. Loosepipes should be secured to preventnoise.

“ For ease of maintenance, the pumpshould be sited where there is easyaccess. It is recommended that isolationvalves are fitted before and after thepump. The ideal location for the pump is in the airing cupboard next to the hotwater cylinder. It can also be locatedunder the bath tub if the hot watercylinder is in close proximity.

“ It is not recommended that the pump islocated in the loft space as this willcreate an inverted U shape in the pipework. All U shapes are liable to result in air locks. If this is unavoidable pleasespeak to our Technical Department.

“ Before operating the pump ensure thatthe system is flushed through to removeall debris.

“ Ensure that without the pump beingelectrically connected, there is a flow of at least half a litre a minute. The flow must be measured at the highestshowering point. This is necessary tooperate the pump’s flow switches.

“ If a minimum head of water, 12’ (310mm),is not available then a negative headpump will be required. The situation islikely to arise more frequently in flats, loft conversions and properties with lowceilings. The situation can also arise ifthe installation has a very long pipe run or a large number of bends.

“ Detailed instructions for the pumpinstallation and an electrical installationguide are to be found inside the pump box.

“ Use a recommended shower tray wasteand ensure there is sufficient angle onthe water pipe to drain the water away.

“ The 3 or 4 bar Stuart Turner pumps are capable of running a completebathroom with shower basin, bidet andbath. Two bathrooms can also run offone pump although there will be a dropin pressure if two are run together.

“ All shower systems will operate on a unvented hot water systems with anincoming mains water pressure of 2 bar. If your mains pressure is lowerplease contact our Sales department.

“ If you are installing a shower system with a combination boiler, check youhave an operating pressure of 2 bar and that the unit is 28KW or more.
