“Better than anything else! From 40 to 20,000 Hz, the WMS 40system provides the same perfect audioas a cable. … Normally, each micro-phone maker creates its own ‘wirelessstandard’. AKG however, justifiablyproud of its own microphone elements, has a broader vision and provides aperfect, versatile solution called theWMS Series:… ease of use, good performance, veryacceptable price.”Tools 2/’02 (Germany)
“An absolute scoop, though, is the lowcurrent consumption of the bodypackand handheld transmitters that willwork perfectly for approximately35 hours off a pair of standard AA sizebatteries.”Gitarre & Bass 6/’00 (Germany)
WMS40 microtools
“The microtools recommend themselvesas a flexible and easy-to-use system:Hook it up, insert batteries, and play. The front panel is laid out clearly toavoid confusion. Three LEDs provide allessential information. The transmitter, receiver, and charger add up to a veryuseful system at an affordable price.”Tastenwelt 3/’02 (Germany)

Working Distance and Proximity Effect
Your voice will sound bigger and fuller, the closeryou hold the microphone to your lips. Proximityeffect is a dramatic boost of low frequenciesthat occurs when you sing into the microphonefrom less than 2 inches and gives more “body”to your voice.Moving away from the microphone will create amore distant sound as the microphone picks upmore of the other sounds in the room.

How to maintain the sound quality ofyour microphoneDust, perspiration, lipstick, moisture, etc. gradually butdramatically deteriorate anymicrophone’s sound. However, all you need to do to maintain
excellent sound for many years is clean your micregularly.Use• methylated spirits or alcohol to clean the micro-phone body and the wire-mesh cap.• 70% isopropyl alcohol or soap suds to wash thewindscreen and allow it to dry overnight. How to prevent feedback
1. Make sure to place the speakers in front of theuser, i.e., in front of the microphone. This willdramatically improve usable system gain beforefeedback sets in.
2. Reducing the distance between the user’smouth and the microphone will also increasegain-before-feedback. In a critical situation, youcan remove the integrated microphone from thetransmitter and mount it closer to the user’smouth.
