Aker Floating Production is an oil service company focused on the market for Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) which are named Aker Smart 1, 2,3 & 4
The business was established with the purpose of owning, operating, and chartering out converted tankers equipped for offshore oil, gas and LPG production and storage. Aker Floating Production has purchased three Suezmax tankers which will be converted to FPSOs at Jurong Shipyard in Singapore.
Aker Smart 1, 2,3 & 4 are designed to provide operations with a flexible and
cost effective production facility, which can be rapidly deployed to accelerate the development of first oil. The solution provides oil companies with added flexibility without additional cost.
Aker Smart 1, 2,3 & 4 are designed to operate in benign deepwater regions. The capabilities are expected to meet the requirements of approximately 80 to 90 percent of eligible FPSO projects located in the target deployment areas of West Africa, South East Asia, South America and Mexico.
Aker Floating Production’s listing on the Oslo Stock Exchange took place in 2006. Aker ASA, an active industrial owner, holds 50.1 percent of the shares. The Company is headquartered in Oslo, Norway.
