Akashi is a small seaside city in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. Located on the meridian of 135 degrees east longitude which is used to determine Japan Standard Time. JST.Located on the Japan Inland Sea near to Kobe City, the capital of Hyogo. Famous for the remains of a castle which is in a large public park. A beautiful place to visit in the spring to view cherry blossom. Its also famous for the quality of the fish sold in the city, especially popular is Akashiyaki made from octopus.The fish sold is so fresh and often still alive, I call it winking fish!Akashi is a great place to enjoy sunsets and night views of the Akashi-Kaikyosuspension bridge, the longest in the world. There are a number of very pleasant beaches. I think one of the most popular past-times is fishing.
