History
Airbus was established in 1970 as an European consortium of French, German and later, Spanish and U.K companies.
The two full partners in the original consortium were Aerospatiale for France and Deutsche Aerospace for Germany.
In 1971 CASA of Spain became a full member of the GIE. (GIE moved to Toulouse in 1974.)
In 1979 British Aerospace became a full partner.
