Indoor&WorkplaceAirQualityMonitoringPoor indoor air quality can be a severe health risk and can also affect worker’s productivity and wellbeing. Regular monitoring and testing can identify particular issues and enable solutions to be implemented. GGS provides a range of sampling and analysis services for offices, homes, warehouses or more specialist facilities. GGS can perform internal monitoring for a variety of gases and environmental factors, including carbon dioxide, methane, volatile organic compounds (VOC), humidity, temperature, particulate matter and dust. Our staff are trained to use a variety of monitoring methods including continuous monitoring devices, hand-held analysers and Gastec Detector Tubes.

GGS will always aim to ensure that the monitoring and testing is conducted in a manner that will cause the least disruption in offices, homes and other working environments, whether it be ongoing continuous monitoring, or indoor surveys.

Ground-Gas Solutions (GGS) is the UK’s leading environmental consultancy specialising in continuous environmental data capture, analysis and interpretation. Our staff are trained and experienced at undertaking a wide range of air quality monitoring.

ServiceOverviewGGS provides a flexible approach to air quality monitoring and testing which takes into account site specific conditions to provide a cost-effective service. Where applicable, GGS utilises continuous environmental monitoring and other ‘Best Available Technologies’ (BAT), to acquire robust, authoritative data that is designed to provide confidence to clients, regulators, local communities and interested third parties regarding the air quality of a site.

AmbientAirQualityMonitoringGGS has operated on a wide variety of sites conducting external air quality monitoring, from landfills to building sites. GGS can perform external monitoring for a range of environmental parameters, including particulate matter, dust, nitrous oxides, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide and methane.

GGS is experienced in using a wide range of monitoring methods, including continuous and periodic monitoring:

• Continuous monitoring of Particulate Matter;• Continuous monitoring of Carbon Dioxide and other bulk gases;• Application of adsorption tubes – including speciated volatile organic compounds (VOCs);• Application of diffusion tubes – including BTEX, sulphur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) etc.;• Directional & depositional dust monitoring.

BREEAMIndoorAirQualityOur staff are trained and competent in carrying out air quality testing in line with the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology (BREEAM) environmental assessment method and rating system for buildings. GGS aim to be as flexible and efficient as possible to meet the challenging deadlines in the construction industry and will work with site managers to ensure credits are obtained where they are due.

All BREEAM indoor air quality monitoring is carried out in accordance with the following standards:

• BS EN ISO 16000-4: 2004 Diffusive sampling of formaldehyde in air;• EN ISO 16000-6: 2011 VOCs in air by active sampling;• BS EN 16017-2: 2003 VOCs – Indoor, ambient and workplace air by passive sampling;• BS EN ISO 16000-3: 2001 Formaldehyde and other carbonyls in air by pumped sampling.Continuous Particulate Matter Monitoring
