1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 The extension of Malacca airports movement areas and related facilities are expected to becompleted and opened for operational use on 12 March 2009.

1.2 New instrument approach procedures will be introduced in connection with the opening ofthe new extended runway.

1.3 The purpose of this AIP Supplement is to notify the aviation industry of the new manoeuvringareas, aeronautical ground facilities, navigational and visual aids, and instrument approachprocedures that will be introduced at Malacca airport in conjunction with its upgradingprogram.

1.4 The information provided in this AIP Supplement is presented in similar ICAO formatapplicable for the Aeronautical Information Publication.

2. VISUAL AIDS

2.1 A new simple approach lighting system is provided for runway 03. PAPIs are provided forboth runway 03 and 21.

3. MOVEMENT AREAS AND AERODROME DATA

3.1 The movement areas that will be available when the extended runway, new taxiways andnew aprons are fully completed are indicated in aerodrome Chart Appendix B.

3.2 The full runway length of 1800m will be available for landing and take-off operations. A turnpad is provided at the end of runway 03 and a new connecting taxiway link the main parkingapron to the beginning of runway 03.

All new data and information pertaining to the upgraded airport are listed in Appendix A - 1 to Appendix A - 8

3.3 Aerodrome chart and Type A Chart (operating limitations) are shown in Appendix Band Appendix C respectively.

3.4 Aeronautical Ground Lighting and Runway / taxiways marking charts are shown inAppendix D and Appendix E respectively. Apron marking chart is shown in AppendixE-1.

4. REVISION OF IFR HOLDING AREAS, PROCEDURES AND CHARTS

4.1 New Instrument Approach Charts for Runway 03 and 21 are shown in Appendix F-1 toAppendix F-4.

4.1.1 Existing VOR/DME charts for RWY 03 and RWY 21 published in AIP SUPP 07 / 2008 dated 06 December 2008 will remain effective until superseded by Instrument charts published in this AIP Supplement.

4.2 The following charts pertaining to Malacca Airport in AIP Malaysia are superseded andwithdrawn :

5. IMPLEMENTATION

5.1 This AIP Supplement and relevant Charts are expected to become effective on12 March 2009 when the extended movement areas and related facilities arecommissioned for operations. A trigger NOTAM will be issued notifying the effectivedate of implementation of facilities.

6. CANCELLATION

6.1 This AIP Supplement will remain current until the information is published in AIPMalaysia.

WMKM AD 2.20 LOCAL TRAFFIC REGULATIONS

1. Local Flying Restrictions

1.1 Over Malacca City - a. Light aircraft not less than 1000 ft b. Medium aircraft not less than 1500 ft.

1.2 Circuit - a. Active Circuit : Left Hand Circuit for RWY 03; Right Hand Circuit for RWY 21.Circuit Height - Light category aircraft - 1000ft; Medium category aircraft - 1500 ft.

2. Departing Aircraft / Start Up

2.1 To regulate the movement of aircraft with respect to other aircraft on the apron, departing aircraft shall contact Malacca Ground on 121.6 MHz for start-up.

2.2 The pilot-in-command and aircraft marshallers shall be responsible for the safety of aircraft wirh respect to all other aircraft, vehicles, persons and other obstructions on the apron during docking, engine start-up, taxiing and also ensuring the appropriate blast zone behind the aircraft is clear during engine start-up.

2.3 The pilot shall contact ATC for taxiing instructions prior to entering the manoeuvring area. ATC Clearance shall be issued on taxiing.

2.4 Clearance to enter active runway and departure clearance shall be issued by the TWR on 118.0 MHz.

3. Arriving Aircraft Parking Arrangement

3.1 Arriving schedule aircraft will be allocated a Stand / Bay number by SMC.

3.2 Upon entering the apron, pilot shall look-out for marshaller to guide aircraft to the assigned parking stand.

3.3 General aviation aircraft will normally be allocated open bay (Bay R1, R2, R3 or R4) at General Aviation Apron. Aircraft operator shall make their own arrangement if marshalling service is required.

4. Removal of Aircraft.

4.1 Removal of a crashed / disabled aircraft is the responsibility of the airport authority and the aircraft owner or operator. In the case of a reportable accident, the permission of the DCA Chief Inspector of Accidents is required prior to the removal.

WMKM AD 2.22 FLIGHTS PROCEDURES

1. PROCEDURES FOR VFR FLIGHTS WITHIN MALACCA CONTROL ZONE.

1.1 All VFR flights shall be conducted in accordance with the visual flight rules and obtain ATC clearance.1.2 Two way radio communications shall be established and maintained on the appropriate frequency.1.3 All aircraft operating over the coastline must not fly less than 1000 ft over a stretch from Terendak Camp until Petronas Oil Refinery plant in Sungai Udang and to avoid flying directly overhead these two areas.1.4 All jet engine aircraft including Hercules C-130 taxiing out from the main apron shall taxi on minimum power until they are established on Taxiway A.
