The following practice and airshow periods will apply:S THU 1 APR 1000–1100, 1200–1300, 1400–1500 NZDT.S FRI 2 APR 0730–0830, 1000–1100, 1200–1300, 1400–1500 NZDT.S SAT 3 APR 0930–1630 NZDT.S SUN 4 APR 0930–1630 NZST.Note:S NZDT is 13 hours ahead of UTC; NZST is 12 hours ahead of UTC.S Daylight saving (end of NZDT/start of NZST) ceases at 3:00am SUN 4 APR 10(1004031400 UTC).

S Changes will be notified by NOTAM.S Variations on airshow days may be permitted only by the Display Director.S Designated arrival times are the periods outside or between the practice andairshow periods. Check these times carefully as Wanaka Tower will not be onwatch during the practice and airshow periods.

Arriving pilots of VFR aircraft should note that an individual Wanaka CTR/D/NZR998entry clearance will not normally be issued by the TWR due to the automaticapproval noted under “Arrival Procedures”. Pilots reporting at required inboundreporting points should expect to receive a confirmation of their currentrunway-sequence number and traffic information on the aircraft immediately aheadof them. ATC will not normally update individual runway-sequence numbers asaircraft land ahead, until a landing clearance is available.Entry into Wanaka CTR/D/NZR998 via the TARRAS and DUNSTAN arrival proceduresis approved during designated arrival times — no further authorisation is required.Aircraft wishing to join using other procedures must obtain a specific clearance toenter Wanaka CTR/D and NZR998, and may be accommodated if traffic and safetypermit, but delays must be expected.Permission to enter and operate within Wanaka CTR/D/NZR998 will be withdrawnfor individual pilots who do not comply with instructions and procedures containedwithin this AIP Supplement, and any amendments thereto advised by NOTAM or byWanaka Tower. If safety or weather dictates, operations within WanakaCTR/D/NZR998 may be suspended at any time.Pilots operating within Wanaka CTR/D/NZR998 must turn the aircraft landingand/or anti-collision lights on, unless otherwise instructed by ATC.GeneralTo eliminate excess radio clutter, position reports should be accurate and concise. This is the basis of traffic information for all aircraft.Transponder equipped aircraft should at all times leave their transponder “ON” andoperate Mode C as an additional aid to ACAS equipped aircraft for collision avoidance.Pilots should determine the required arrival procedure and runway-in-use prior toreaching the Wanaka area. This information will be available on the ATIS (127.6MHz), from Christchurch Information, and from adjacent ATS units. All pilots are reminded that on arrival they are responsible for ensuring thatpassengers remain on board their aircraft until escorted by the pilot or cabin crewinto the public enclosure. On departure all pilots must arrange to meet theirpassengers in the public area and then escort them through the departure gate totheir aircraft.Departing aircraft, on vacating Wanaka CTR/D/NZR998, must report to WanakaTower then continue with enroute frequencies and procedures.
