1. Brief history of the Pioneer Museum (Continued) Declaration as a museum Ernst and his wife Johanna Louisa chose to live at Hartbeespoort until Ernst passed away in 1939, Johanna Louisa remained there, and through her efforts the house was preserved and later declared a museum In 1961, Johanna Louisa’s, daughter-in-law of Hans Mundt, donated the land on which the house was erected as historical monuments to the municipality of Silverton. The municipality in turn approached the director of the National Cultural History Museum, Mrs Roodt-Coetzee, to establish a museum, which is still the present day Pioneer Museum. During April 1999, the National Cultural History Museum, of which Pioneer Museum was a satellite museum, amalgamated with various other museums to form the Northern Flagship Institution. The Northern Flagship Institution consists of the following museums; Pioneer Museum. National Cultural History Museum Transvaal Museum South African National Museum of Military History
Kruger Museum Tswaing Crater Museum and Nature Reserve. Willem Prinsloo Agricultural Museum.

11. On a Lighter Note
a. Poem of the Month
There are Angels God puts on Earth
Who care for us and guide us.
You can feel their love and gentleness As they walk thought love beside us.
They do great things for us every day
They whisper in our ears, They even hold us in their hearts
When we are filled with all our fears.
They are always there to give a hug And try to make us smile.
They treat us with respect and love, They treat us like their child.
15
God blessed met with an Angel, I’m proud to call her my own
She’s been with me throughout my Life, been with me as I’ve grown.
She’s guided me the best she can,
She’s taught me like no other, And I’m thankful I’m the lucky one
Who gets to call her …….
