You are Aimco. And that’s an awesome thing. Did you know that customers are actually

deciding what they think about you, before

deciding to rent or renew their apartment

home with you? And much like you’d take

special care to “dress to impress” if guests

were coming to a party at your home, you

should also look your best to celebrate the

arrival of potential customers. It’s the first

step in successful selling. Everything from

your clothing to your grooming to your

smile and handshake play a huge role in the

customer’s buying decision.

Before we talk style - let’s talk sports. Why sports?  Because we’re a hard working, fun,

successful team. And much like a sports team,

the more we are cohesive in our approach and

attitude, the more we’ll achieve our goals. So while

we applaud each person’s individuality, it’s also

good to have some guidelines that help bring

our individual styles together to strengthen the

positive image at each of our communities.

Ok, now let’s talk style. The old saying goes, “You never get a second

chance to make a first impression.” So think

of this as your chance to exude confidence.

Show your sense of style paired with a sense

of pride. Add a little charisma, and you’re

aiming for a style that makes you feel great.

So What’s Aim For Style? We know that sometimes it can be little

intimidating to try to figure out exactly what

works best for work. So, we hired some savvy

stylists to help us create an easy-to-use style

guide to help you find ways to adapt your own

wardrobe to suit the season, stay on trend,

and fit in with the style and culture of Aimco.

We are excited to see how you add your own

special look to our brand.

Aimco’s Dress Code

Aim for Style INTRODUCTION

HELPFUL TIP: When you get

dressed for work, look in the

mirror and ask yourself “What’s

the first thing a potential customer

will notice about me? Will they be

inclined to sign on the dotted line?”

in these colors can be mixed and matched

in infinite ways.

SKIRTS & DRESSES: 4” max above knee when sitting

TOPS: Must be tailored or fitted

SLACKS: Choose a tailored fit hemmed to 1/4- 1/2” off the floor

SHOES: Show a little toe or hide them. But remember, all shoes must cover your heel or have a back strap

LUXURY MENDRY CLEAN / IRON

Let’s start with the basics. The base color of your wardrobe must be black, blue, gray, or chocolate

brown. If you feel most dapper in gray - go for it. Feel most confident

in blue? That’s fine. Or have some of each to spice up your week.

SPORT COATS: Must be styled with 1 or 2 buttons

SLACKS: Choose a tailored fit with a medium break (slack should hit midway between the top of your loafer and the top of your shoe sole)

SHIRTS: Wear a button-down, collared shirt underneath your sport coat. Can be long or short-sleeved

SHOES: Choose loafers or lace ups. Make sure they are nicely polished and in good shape

SUBTLE SUCCESS. For shirts, ties, slacks and sport coats, please choose solid colors or subtle patterns. Let your personality take center stage, not a bold plaid or paisley.

with smaller earrings, or

a smaller necklace. Don’t

have the two compete.

LESS IS MORE. Simple can be stunning.

Stay away from huge,

27Aim for Style HELPFUL TIPS

LOOK GOOD. FEEL GOOD. WORK BETTER.

When you look your best, you are at

your best. So take an extra minute,

check the mirror and make sure

you feel confident, comfortable and

great about how you look each day.

You’ll be surprised how much that

shines through to coworkers and

customers. If something doesn’t

make you feel your best... change

it. The extra minute spent will be

worth it.

IF THE STYLE FITS, WEAR IT.

Properly fitted clothing makes you

look better and more professional.

So wear the right size clothing. If it

is too large, too small, or too long,

head to a tailor and get it altered for

the perfect fit.

BE NATURAL.

The right makeup can transform your

image. So use it to your advantage

to look polished and healthy, never

overdone. Keep your makeup

choices fresh and natural.

GAME, SET, MATCH.

Simple tips for the guys. Match

your socks to your dress shoes (i.e.

black socks w/ black shoes, brown

socks w/ brown shoes). Match

your belt with your shoes. Find a

tailor you like – they can transform

even a moderately priced jacket or

pant into a dapper version just by

making it fit you perfectly.

READY. Aim. STYLE.PRESSED FOR SUCCESS.

Wrinkled clothes never made

someone look sharp. Buy an iron

or steamer. Know how to use

them. Use often.
