A personal EP Manager is going to assist you throughout the whole exchange process - from the date that you successfully pass our interview until the day you come back from your exchange. Your EP manager will give you advice on how to apply or how to search for a suitable program. Your manager will stay in contact with you during your internship and is your first contact person with regards to any problems.
The participation at the seminar is COMPULSARY for all EPs who are planning to go on exchange abroad. The seminar is held regionally on 18th May 2013 (SAT). You will get all the required information about AIESEC, how to access the database, cultural preparation, etc. The seminar prepares you for your exchange and makes sure that you can gain the maximum out of your journey. You will also have the chance to meet other EPs who are going abroad and possibly a few who might be going to the same country as you. This will definitely help you expand your social network.
The Exchange Program Policies is a document, published by AIESEC
International that defines your rights in case something goes wrong during
your internship (e.g. Falling ill and having to return home earlier than
expected, Job received is not the one on your job description). If you would
like access to this document, you will have to contact the Director of
International Exchange at Macquarie. ([email protected])
10
Once you are accepted into our program, we offer you access to our huge internship database on myaiesec.net where you can look for internships and write as many applications as you want during your access period of 9 months. We offer you different types of programs with different requirements in NGOs and other known enterprises. You will have your own profile and you can use different searching tools to filter internships. You can search for internships based on countries, functional areas, durations, companies, required skills, etc.
And most importantly, our high-quality exchange programs will provide you one of the most memorable experiences of your life. There will be other interns from various countries of the same program and this will be your chance to build your own international network. You will be surprised by the fact that you can change the world through one little exchange program. You will be able to teach rural children to dare to dream, you will see a completely different culture with your own eyes, and you will be able to challenge and develop yourself.
We also have a complete reward system for you, which is the ‘Refer a Friend’ Policy. For more details regarding the Exchange Reward Program, please contact the Director of International Exchange in AIESEC Macquarie.

After you pass the interview, you need to sign the contract (You will receive the contract beforehand. It is COMPULSARY for you to read it before the interview) and pay the remaining fee (either $550 or $700, depending on the program you have been selected into). If you are not successful in the interview, you can choose to sit once again on a later date.
14
In this session, you can check the answers
to questions we are frequently asked about
concerning AIESEC Exchange and
Internships. Of course, we also make
ourselves available for any further questions
that might concern you.
15
How does AIESEC differ from other exchange providers?
AIESEC exchange programs go beyond the job itself with emphasis put on the cross-cultural experience candidates gain alongside their professional experience. As an example, whilst overseas you will have the opportunity to connect with other foreign EPs participating in our exchange programs. Local AIESEC members will also give you the unique opportunity to arrive in a foreign country with a readymade support network waiting for you. AIESEC is your gate to an international network.
What does the AIESEC Exchange Program offer?
The AIESEC Internship Program offers you the possibility to undertake an intense
professional and cultural experience in one of our partnered 20+ countries around the
world. Your sending country, in our case Australia, will help in preparing you for the
Internship, in passing you through selection and in assisting you with searching for
applications on our online database. Once you have found an Internship, your hosting
committee will assist you with your Visa and work permit and will help you organize
your accommodation. In addition to this, your hosting committee will be there for you
as soon as you arrive, from picking you up in the airport to organising cultural and
networking events with other Interns.
What does AIESEC NOT offer? AIESEC does not offer a tailor made program as a product, meaning we
cannot offer you an internship at a specific place in a specific country. Candidates entering our programs should be flexible on a variety of countries whilst not only looking for employment in large multinationals, though these do exist amongst out program pool. AIESEC internships do help you gain professional skills but more importantly, they are a great opportunity to have an intense intercultural experience.
What kind of contract will I have to sign?
After passing through selection you will be offered a place in one of our
exchange programs. Here you will be given a copy of your exchange
contract which you will have time to review and return. There won’t be any
horrible surprises; however, if you would like to view a copy before this, feel
free to ask for one during selection.
What is the Review Board (MRB)? The MRB is an interview where we want to find out whether you are suitable
for our program, how you perceive foreign countries, and whether your
English skills are sufficient. This is important because we guarantee certain
qualities and competencies when we send students to work in our partner
companies.
Who will help me in my host country? All the programs are based on a local committee nearby who is there to help
you throughout your whole internship. More concretely, the members of this
hosting local committee organise your accommodation, pick you up from the
airport/ station, show you around the city and accompany you to work on your
first day. In addition, they will integrate you into their activities, organise events
for you and the other EPs, and help you get to know the people and culture of
your host country. If there should be any problems, there will always be
someone to help you. We will be in contact with you and support you in every
possible way.
Can I look at your internship pool/database before paying the fee and
participating in the AIESEC Internship Program? Yes. You can come to the Local AIESEC office to have a look through
our database of internships. It is best to contact our Director of
International Exchange ([email protected]) to make an
appointment first.
