Q-1. Kevin can send 20 computers to Swara at an invoice price of Rs. 50,000 each on 1-4-2015. The

invoice price is arrived at after adding 25% profit on cost price. Kevin paid Rs. 10,000 while sending

the goods.

On 01-04-2015 Kevin Drew of bill of Rs. 5,00,000 for 4 months on Swara, which the later duly

accepted. On 04-05-2015 Kevin discounted the bill with the bank at the rate of 12% discount per

annum.

On 31/03/2016 Swara sent and Account Sale in which it was reported that –

1. She paid Rs. 4,000 for Unloading charges, Rs. 6,000 for Carriage and Rs. 15,000 for Advertisement.

2. She sold 10 computers for Rs. 55,000 each on cash 3. She sold 5 computers at Rs. 60,000 each to Ramesh on Credit. 4. Ramesh was declared insolvent and only 50% amount could be recovered from him. 5. One computer was destroyed due to mishandling and insurance company admitted claim of

Rs. 37,00 6. Out of the unsold computers, 2 computers were damaged and repairing charges for both

were estimated at Rs. 6,500.

Swara is entitled to a general commission of 5%on total sales, 2% delcredere commission on credit

sales and 10% of net profit as a share in profit.

In the books of Kevin, prepare Consignment Account and Swara’s Account.

Q-3. Dave and Rutva entered into a joint venture to purchase and sale smart TV’s. They agreed to

share profit and loss in the ratio of 3:2. Dev purchased 40 smart TV’s at Rs. 25,000 each and send

them to Rutva for sale. Dev Drew a bill on Rutva for 3 months for Rs. 600,000. The bill was

discounted by Dev at 12%. (discount on bill is considered as joint venture expenditure).

Dev paid Freight Rs. 35,000 , insurance Rs. 25,000 and advertisement expenses Rs. 50,000. One

smart TV was damaged in transit, for which Insurance Company paid 20,000 to Dev. Rutva paid

showroom Rent Rs. 30,000 and Delivery charges Rs. 12,000.

Rutva sold 37 Smart TV’s at an average price of Rs. 35,000. Remaining Smart TVs were purchased by

Rutva for Rs. 55,000. Rutva sent a bank draft to Dev to settle the accounts.

You are required to prepare a joint venture account and Dev account in the books of Rutva.
