Membership Commitments - 2014

• AH&LA has identified brands, owners and management companies and categorized them accordingly in our database.

• Executive team and officers have been assigned outreach to all companies in tiers 1-5.

• Sales team will be assigned accounts in tiers 6-13.

PSA Agreement

PSA 2013 4th Quarter Billing:

• On December 31, 2013, PSAs will be billed for the 4th quarter dues.

• Procedures will be the same as we are currently using.

• The payment will be due on January 31, 2014.

PSA Billing Process:

For 2014 Billing: • On March 31, 2014, states that have signed a partner state

agreement will receive an invoice that will reflect the 2014 membership fee due to AH&LA.

• PSA membership fees may be paid in full or if a PSA chooses to pay quarterly, the billings will be on March 31, June 30, September 30 and December 31.

• The partner state will be billed the 2014 membership fee based on $1 per room for all properties 51 rooms or more that were members of AH&LA as of 12/31/12.

PSA Membership Fee Billing Process:

For 2015 Billing: • PSAs must provide to AH&LA a report of members of the

state association as of 12/31/13, no later than 6/1/14.

• The list will include only the properties with 51 rooms or more that are both branded and independent.

PSA Membership Fee Billing Process:

• Independent property membership dues may be paid in full at one time, or may be invoiced quarterly, based on the decision of the PSA. If quarterly, dues invoices will be issued on March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31.

• On March 31, 2014, any PSA selling AH&LA Independent property memberships will receive an invoice with a spreadsheet that reflects all independent properties that are in membership as of 2/28/14. This would include prior members of AH&LA and new members.

• Independent properties should be reported upon joining and may be cancelled or have information changed at any time.

• The credit for the $1 per room commission will be included on the invoice that is sent to you.

PSA Billing Process – Independent Properties:

• Advocacy – state, regional, local issues• Monthly ENewsletter• $1/room commission for Independent Properties• Information in advance, when possible• Information Center Access and information in PSA Enews• Press releases, tool kits, dedicated PSA website• Two American Express seminars for states paying $100,000 or more in

dues• One American Express seminar to states paying less than $100,000 on a

first come – first serve basis• Provide webinar from seminar presenters• Co-branded products

PSA Agreement – AH&LA Commitment

• Collaboration on HotelPAC contributions• Stars of the Industry• No other partnerships in state• EI commissions, discounts, etc.• Share membership collateral• Services provided at no cost • Will take no actions to harm a PSA• Promote value of state-level membership• Request property names/contacts be shared with PSAs

PSA Agreement – AH&LA Commitment

• Pay membership fee of $1 per room – 51 or more rooms as of 12/31/12 – billed quarterly

• Has option of selling independent membership.• If selling independents, remit on quarterly basis.• If delinquent, AH&LA will hold royalties and EI commissions• Make payments to EI for products sold.• Encourage grassroots support on issues• Promote joint programs – Hcareers/Staples• Send independent members by March 14, 2014• Optional co-brands• Promote value of AH&LA

• Not take actions to circumvent AH&LA bylaws.• Provide Information Center prepared info to your members• Allow an audit to be conducted at any time. • Encourage staff participation in AH&LA conference call.• Provide staff list to receive communications• Termination of an agreement – all monies owed will be paid in full.

• Independent properties - collect $2 per room• Send AH&LA $1 per room / Keep $1 per room as commission• A property may pay dues to AH&LA directly, however, we will

also encourage to come through the state. • Properties do not have to be a member of both state and

AH&LA.
