Optimum lightingThe cab and entrance area are illumi-nated automatically when the doors areopened, allowing you to mount and dis-mount safely in the dark. The effectiveAgrotron K lighting also enhances safetyand confidence and increases produc-tivity with improved external lighting fornight work. The maximum option of 14headlights and working lamps can effec-tively illuminate an area of 500 m2.

Efficient noise reductionThe Agrotron K is one of the quietesttractors in its class. This is achievedwith basic design features such as en-gines with reduced noise emission andthorough exclusion of all noise-emittingand noise-transferring components fromthe cab. An additional insulating wall bet-ween the engine compartment and thesingle-cell, full-body cab considerablyimproves noise insulation.

Comfortable and safe co-driver seatThe folding, upholstered co-driver seat isperfectly integrated into the cab en-trance. The seat has an automatic lapbelt and handle, ensuring maximum safe-ty for the co-driver.

The controls for the heating and air conditioning system are installed in the roof. The air conditioning system isa standard feature of the "Profiline” package. An optional electronically controlled automatic air conditioner isavailable for the "Profiline” version.

There are many operating concepts on themarket. However, in practice few aresimple, self-explanatory and easy tolearn. For this reason the DEUTZ-FAHRdevelopment engineers focused all theirattention on functionality and operatingsimplicity.

Every driver should, in practice, be ableto use the tractor reliably and produc-tively without extra training and after onlya short period of familiarisation.

All levers and switches in the Agrotron Kvary in shape and colour and are logicallyand clearly arranged. They are combinedaccording to frequency of use in func-tional groups on an operating panel atthe driver's right hand. Drivers find theirway around immediately. This workplaceis optimally designed for reliable and con-fusion-free operation that enhances thedriver's productivity.

The "PowerComS” armrest ("Profiline” version)All functions of the Agrotron K are con-veniently integrated in the "PowerComS”armrest for easy access. Both engineand transmission control and also flowand time settings for the electrical re-mote valves are integrated into thefolding armrest.

The InfocenterWith the Infocenter the driver has all thetractor operating data of the tractor inview at all times; function indicators, forexample for PTO rpm and travellingspeeds, are digital. The engine speed andtemperature as well as fuel levels areshown on analogue displays. Mainte-nance and warning signals are displayedboth digitally and in plain text.

EXCELLENT OPERATION.

Can standardised tractor management pro-grammes really do justice to varying appli-cations in practical agricultural hands-onsituations? Or would it not be better if thedriver could automate the functions that herequires for the job in hand? Ideally thesecould be reactivated by a simple operatinglever gesture.

Simple programmingThis is exactly the concept of DEUTZ-FAHR with the "PowerComS” operatinglever and the "Comfortip” function (stan-dard feature in the "Profiline” version).Individual operating sequences can beprogrammed by the driver and reactivatedby simply moving or pushing the operatinglever. The operating sequences are cen-trally and consecutively displayed in theInfocenter. The next programmed functionis highlighted on the display so that the

driver can see at all times which functionhe will activate next.

To prepare the system for programmingoperating sequences – this is possiblewhen the tractor is stationary or moving –the "PowerComS” operating lever only hasto be moved to the left, whilst simultane-ously pressing the locking button. Anacoustic signal is then sounded and thedigital display on the instrument panel isactivated to accept the command function.

All functions the driver requires for ploughing can be simply reactivated by pushing the PowerComSoperating lever to one side.

Road transport. The advantages of ASM: Speed above 15 km/h – 4wheel drivedisengaged; Speed below 14 km/h – 4wheel drive engaged.

Turning in the field. The ASM principle: Steering angle greater than 15°- differentiallock off; Steering angle less than 15° - differential lock on; Actuation of individualwheel brake - differential lock off.

ASM is simply activated with a pushbutton.

For programming all you have to do ispress the respective buttons on thePowerComS operating lever or on themulti-function armrest. The programmedfunctions are of course stored in thememory when the tractor is switched off.This is the ultimate in simplicity and prac-ticality.

Increase in productivity ensuredIn this manner different operating sequen-ces with up to 16 functions can be savedand reactivated. The driver customises

his Agrotron for each job and considerab-ly increases productivity with one-handoperation of the tractor functions. Ope-rating sequences also enhance operatingsafety.

Axle control managementPractical situations that are both typicaland frequent: Ploughing in soil of varyingdensity, road travel with heavily loadedtrailers or working on slippery terrain. Theaxle control management (ASM) automati-cally controls the front drive axle and both

differential locks. The front and rear diffe-rential locks (100 percent locking value)and the 4wheel drive can be activated anddeactivated under load as required,depending on the steering angle and thespeed. If the radar sensor is fitted wheelslip is also taken into account. ASM ensu-res maximum traction, driving comfortand a high degree of operational safetyeven under the toughest conditions.

DEUTZ engines are renowned for their eco-nomy, reliability and their excellent torque.It is therefore not surprising that the Agro-tron K was given top marks in these cate-gories by agriculturalists from all over theworld. The high propulsion is frequentlypraised. One particular feature, which ismuch appreciated, is that maximum poweroutput is already reached at 1800 rpm.

The modern liquid-cooled 4 and 6-cylinderDEUTZ turbo diesel engines have a capacityof 4 and 6 litres are notable for their con-stant output with high overpower. With aminimum torque rise of 30% and the stan-dard feature EMC electronic motor control,the engines are among the most advancedon the market. The engine sensors supplythe EMC with continuous information that isconstantly compared with the programmedoptimum engine ratings for power, torqueand fuel consumption. The result: Morepower, lower consumption and lower effec-tive engine speed.

Constant engine performanceThe rated power of the Agrotron K is al-ready reached at 1,700 rpm, so that aconstant engine performance is availableover a wide speed range of 600 rpm. Thismeans relaxed work, less gear shifting,large power reserves, high torque valuesand lower fuel consumption at lower speedswhile maintaining the same engine per-formance.

Wide and high torque plateauxConstantly high torque plateaux are anotherimportant and unique feature of DEUTZengines. The torque plateau of the AgrotronK 120 (1,400-1,600 rpm) provides theengine with maximum flexibility through tothe lower speed ranges. The optimumvalues are automatically set in every drivingor load situation by the EMC.

High starting torqueThe engines have a very high startingtorque of at least 26 percent above the tor-

que at the rated speed. The high startingtorque ensures that the tractor pulls offreliably and quickly on slopes, even withvery heavy loads.

Powerful compact cooling systemAll coolers for the engine coolant, oil,charging air, fuel and transmission are inte-grated into the compact cooling systemwith minimum space requirements. An effi-cient and constant cooling performance isalso guaranteed at high ambient tempera-tures. The cooling system can be openedquickly and easily for cleaning. The compactcooler arrangement also minimises thermallosses. The optimised cooling also ensuresa constantly low fuel temperature. Theresult: Cooled fuel has improved com-bustion qualities for a higher performance.

TAKING THE BURDEN OUTOF SHIFTING.

High-torque engines and a robust trans-mission with 3-stage powershift and stan-dard PowerShuttle create a drive train foroutstanding performance and power withminimal shifting. The practical close ratiotransmission comprises a 4-speed trans-mission with 2 electro-hydraulically shiftedgroups (road and field). A 4-speed creepergear group is available.

Due to the position of the large-dimen-sioned wet multi-plate clutch between themain and PowerShift transmission, wear onthe clutch and the shifting forces are re-duced considerably. This results in smooth

and fluent shifting with maximum clutchreliability. The mechanical torsion dampersenhance smooth start-off and reduce theload peaks when the PowerShift stages areactuated.

Practical graduationDepending on the version and tyres theoverall speeds range from 320 metres perhour to 50 km/h, and there are ten speedsin the main working range of 4 – 12 km/h.When a maximum speed of 40 km/h ismandatory this is achieved by simple elec-tronic reduction of the rated engine speedin the 4th gear (road group), saving fuel

and lowering noise emission. The rightspeed is always available for all jobs, eachwith three powershift stages. The powers-hift stage is automatically adjusted whenchanging gears (3-4 or 4-3) and whenchanging ranges. Powershift speeds areincreased by approximately 20 percent orlowered by approximately 17 percent. Thedriver can, for example, use the tractoreconomically and flexibly solely by utili-sation of the constant power range and thethree powershift stages with a full engineperformance from 5.0 to 10 km/h withouthaving to change gear.

Comfort clutchShifting is made easier by the standard fea-ture, electrohydraulically actuated "comfortclutch”. The shifting lever features a push-button that permits gear shifting withoutactuating the clutch pedal.

More than just a powershift: AutomaticPowerShift (APS)As an exclusive feature of the "Profiline”version the four powershift stages areautomatically shifted, depending on theload conditions of the tractor, with thenewly-developed APS feature. The load of

the engine and the engine speed are usedas a control impulse. The driver can infini-tely vary the sensitivity of the system witha rotary switch. The clutch is actuated witheither the foot pedal or with a button on thegearshift lever. The driver shifts 24 speedswithout using the clutch.

As an additional feature the APS automati-cally adapts the powershift stages to thetravelling and engine speed during shifting.

Convenient reversing transmissionWith the PowerShuttle reversing transmis-sion it is possible to pull off from a statio-nary position or change the direction of tra-vel (reverse/forwards) up to a speed of12.5 km/h without actuating the clutch.The PowerShuttle is of particular benefitwhen working on the headland or with thefront loader. The driver's right hand is freeto operate other function controls.

A powerful hydraulic system is also amust in the compact tractor range due tothe varied hydraulic consumers. TheAgrotron K is fitted with an open-centrehydraulic system with a capacity of 55l/min as a standard feature. A separategear pump with a capacity of 26 l/minsupplies the steering circuit. A totalhydraulic conveying capacity of around80 l/min is available.

Load Sensing1. For implements with higher oil re-quirements a pressure and volume-con-trolled hydraulic system (standard fea-ture on "Profiline”) with a conveyingcapacity of up to 83 l/min is availableupon request. The system runs with anaxial piston variable displacement pumpthat is controlled by the respectiveimplement. When the consumer drawsoff oil, the system pressure drops; thevariable displacement pump instantlyprovides more oil so that the pressure

required by the consumers is main-tained. The consumer with the highestpressure requirement determines thecurrent system pressure.

No vibration for driver and implementDuring fast road travel vibrations andshock waves can occur in the hydraulicsystem that are caused by "pitching" ofthe implement. These can have a con-siderable detrimental effect on drivingsafety and comfort. When vibration dam-ping is activated (automatically from8 km/h onwards), vibration is detectedby the electronic components on the loadsensing pins and compensated withselective and fast counteraction by thepowerlift. Geared to the future for re-liable and safe driving in all situations.

Tremendous lifting powerLarge-dimensioned lifting cylindersprovide a tremendous lifting force of upto 6.2 t. This means sound strength tohandle all implement combinations.Externally we have additional actuation ofthe powerlift on both rear mudguardsgiving us an alternative fast, reliable andsafe implement coupling and uncoupling.

Best electronic controlAll Agrotron K tractors are equipped withan electronic powerlift control (EHR). Thefollowing functions are automaticallymonitored: Draft control, position con-trol, mix control, free floating, fastpenetration, slip control (with fittedradar sensor), transport locking, exter-nal control switches, lifting heightlimitation and lowering speed control.

Remote valvesThe Agrotron K is equipped as standardwith 3 double-acting remote valves, eachwith 4 functions operating in the lift andfloat positions and which can also beused for single or double action. Allremote connections at the rear can becoupled under pressure and are equip-

Four speedsAhead of most tractors in its class theAgrotron K features, as standard, a rearPTO with 4 speeds (540, 540 E, 1.000

und 1.000 E). A number of economicaluses are therefore possible. Due to per-fect coordination with the engine charac-teristics the economy PTOs optimise fuelconsumption while maintaining a highperformance and torque potential. Astandard automatic PTO feature swit-ches the rear PTO on and off dependingon the lifting height of the rear powerlift.Operating errors are prevented andmounted implements protected fromdamage.

Powerful front PTOThe 1000 rpm front PTO is driven direct-ly by the engine and electrohydraulicallyactivated by pressing a button. Due tothe modulation provided by the wet plate

clutch, implement start-up is alwayssmooth and independent of the load,even with heavy implements.

The standard four PTO speeds can be conveniently pre-selected.

NO NEED FOR LENGTHY SERVICING.

Fast daily maintenanceDaily maintenance is simple and com-pleted in next to no time with the rear-ward opening angle of the engine cow-ling. Pneumatic springs keep the cowlingin the open position. All important com-ponents and assemblies are easilyaccessible for simple maintenance workwithout tools. The engine oil level can bechecke without opening the cowling. Onthe transmission a large, easily visiblesight glass indicates the transmissionand hydraulic oil levels.

Long maintenance intervalsThe regular engine maintenance intervalsare long – in fact uniquely long. The en-gine oil only requires changing every 500hours of operation and the tappet adjust-ment only needs checking every 1,500hours. The transmission oil and its filtersonly require changing every 1,000 hoursof operation. The operating costs for anAgrotron K are therefore satisfyingly low.

1 The engine air filter is easily acces-sible. Due to the ejector dust separationthe filter maintenance intervals are verylong.

2 Best diagnosis. DEUTZ-FAHR servicecentres can perform fast electronicsystem diagnostic checks on the tractorvia a single plug connection.
