New venture in the State of Sikkim handed over to the Govt of Sikkim by NIIST

– Integrated Spice processing Unit

• NIIST undertook the task of setting up an integrated Spice processing unit for processing Fresh Ginger, Turmeric and Large Cardamom in the State.

• Laboratory assisted the State Horticulture Department in setting up the processing unit at Bidang, Sikkim.

• Unit to cater to the ginger/spices farmers of the state to produce value added products ensuring remunerative prices for them
