EIT Health Ageing PhD School(Ageing@EITHealth) is a pan-Europeandoctoral programme bringing togetherEIT Health academic and non-academicpartners to train of a new generation ofPhD specialists in cell biology, bio-medicine, neuroscience, epidemiologyand gerontology with solid innovationand entrepreneurship competencies. Theconsortium involves accredited PhDprogrammes at nine universities acrossEurope with a solid and internationallyrecognized scientific competence inresearch areas and proven competencein training high-quality PhD training.

Ageing PhD School

Programme Structure Scientific excellence of Ageing@EITHealthPhD School is ensured by high-qualitycourses in innovation andentrepreneurship, exposure to the EITHealth network, including research-basedbusiness incubators in the consortium.Students enrolled in the PhD programme,open to 25 students, also benefitfrom  international mobility and co-supervision of their PhD thesis betweenuniversities, hospitals and companies. TheSchool fosters competence-based andstudent-centered learning by doing and theintegration of the knowledge triangle tosupport healthy living of citizens and createtomorrow’s entrepreneurs. Itsinterdisciplinary and cross-sector approachwill facilitate the exposure of the studentsto big data derived from early diagnosis,personalized health, population ageing, bio-imaging, genetics, epigenetics, socialprofiling, health systems and resourceoptimization, amongst others. Innovation,entrepreneurship and business skills will beoffered by Ageing@EITHealth to reinforcethe business opportunities created byavailable and innovative databases. As partof the programme students receive 30ECTS, including 15 ECTS as part of theinnovation and entrepreneurship activitiesand training internship and 15 ECTS   ininternational mobility at a partneruniversity.

Eligibility Criteria

To be  registered for a PhD in one of the partneruniversities and meet their academicrequirements.To be committed to complete during their studiesa minimum of 30 ECTS in courses, internship andmobility at a partner university.
