A natural sugar that gives skin fullness andelasticity that removes wrinkles and acts as amoisturizing agent.

It is found in human connective tissue includescartilage, epithelial tissue, neural tissue, extracellular matrix.. etc.

In 1934, Karl Meyer, John Palmer isolated thissubstance from the vitreous body of cows eyes

for the first time.

Hyaluronic Acid is a type ofmucopolysaccharidecalledglycosaminoglycan.

Hyaluronic Acid is composed ofN-Acetyl

glucosamine andglucuronic acid.

Sources of HA

Animal products is believed to be the bestnatural source available.

Even most hyaluronic acid supplements are

made from rooster combs.

Magnesium is needed in the body to synthesize

hyaluronic acid, so consuming foods rich inmagnesium, like peanuts, potatoes, soy andspinach can keep hyaluronic acid levels fromdropping too low.

Glucuronic acid

A carboxylic acid that binds toxins togetherand make them more water soluble.

It is formed in the liver, the excessive dose

results in the damage of liver.

USES:

Glucuronic acid is the precursor of ascorbic acid.

A monosaccharide derivative of glucose.

This Polymerizes with glucuronic acid it forms thehyaluronic acid.

This derivative are found in the brains of mammal.

USES:

This is used for injection in the dermis for thepurpose of augmenting soft tissues.

Vitamin E supplements, aspirin, non steroidalanti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such asAleve and Motrin may increase bruising orbleeding after injection of hyaluronic acid.

HA along with its biocompatibility andimmunogenicity has led to its use in a numberof clinical applications.
