The Li'le Red Hen
By: Alexander Goldfield
Once upon a ;me there was a hen named Li'le Red Hen. She had four friends: a fluffy cat, a rough dog, a tough pig, and a loud rooster. “Who will help me plant some
wheat?” asked Li'le Red Hen. “I won’t,” barked the dog. “I won’t,” cried the cat. “I won’t,” wailed the pig. “I won’t,” howled the rooster.
“Ok,” said Li'le Red Hen. So Li'le Red Hen went on and planted the wheat and when the wheat was grown Li'le Red Hen asked her friends if they wanted to go to the mill and grind it into flour.
“I won’t,” barked the dog. “I won’t,” cried the cat. “I won’t,” wailed the pig. “I won’t,” howled the rooster. Then li'le red hen went to the mill
and asked the miller if he could grind this wheat into flour and he did. Li'le Red Hen walked home. When she got home she asked her friends if they wanted to bake flour into bread. “I won’t,” barked the dog. “I won’t,” cried the cat. “I won’t,” wailed the pig. “I won’t,” howled the rooster. Li'le Red Hen baked the flour into
bread. Within an hour, Li'le Red Hen had bread and she asked her friends if they wanted to eat the bread. “I will,” yelled the pig, the dog, the cat, and the
rooster. “No you are not having any bread,” said Li'le Red Hen as she gulped it down.
