ABOUT AYFP

African Youth Forum for Peace (AYFP) is an initiative of Cameroon Youths and Students Forum for Peace (CAMYOSFOP) vision of peace to the rest of the continent but with greater dimensions-born from the two Pan African Youth Leadership summits. AYFP is a purely civil society structure that brings together African Youth Leaders who have stood the test of time in youth initiatives. AYFP stands as hope for the future for African youths

OBJECTIVES OF AYFP

Mobilise and co-ordinate youth initiatives on the future of Africa;Promote the vision and goals of African Union;Provide training on leadership, conflict prevention, management and resolution;Promote the attainment of international agendas such as: the Millennium Development Goals; UN Youth Action Plan; UN Programme of Action on Small Arms and Light Weapons, New Partnership for Africa Development (NEPAD), etc.

Prior to the official launching of AYFP on September 21, 2006 in Yaounde, the vision is presently being introduced through press conferences in the various countries that founding members reside.

AYFP was introduced in Cameroon on June 6, 2006.

It was introduced in Nigeria on June 16th in the conference room of the African Leadership Forum (ALF).

It is being introduced in Ethiopia today, the 29th of June; The Central African Republic will take its turn on July 15, 2006. The delegates of Morocco, Zambia, South Africa and Tanzania are presently doing ground work for the introduction of this network. As such, they are still to come up with the official dates of these introductions
