CONSUMER PROTECTIONS IN THE ACA

CCHI STAFFER
I would frame this as "Consumer Protections"
CCHI STAFFER
Not sure it makes sense to dilineate 2010 protections here given that we are fast approaching 2014. I think it will fall to presenter to say what is already implemented, and what will be implemented Jan. 1st. So I would combine the list of protections and simplify as much as possible.

• Individual Mandate• Colorado will expand Medicaid to cover approximately 160,000 new Coloradans• Employer Responsibility• 50+ employees: must offer coverage or pay a penalty in 2015•Under 50 employees: no requirement but may be eligible for financial assistance

• Dependents up to age 26 can stay on parents’ plans

EXPANDING COVERAGE

CCHI STAFFER
simplify.
CCHI STAFFER
I don't think we need to get into the details between 50+ and 200+ employees in this presentation. Just need to say businesses 50+ subject must provide coverage or pay penalty, <50 are not required to provide coverage, but may qualify for tax credits.
