Army Enterprise Systems Integration Program (AESIP)

■ Enterprise business intelligence – business warehouse (BI-BW) – Big data – aggregated data from multiple ERPs, non-ERPs, and business warehouse

systems into a single environment for business analytics – Streamlined cross-program view of data through single-portal access – Improve centralized business intelligence and analytics capability to the Army – Gives reports, dashboards and analytical tools to empower Army decisions and

maximize efficiency in logistics operations and materiel management across the Army – Make the Army more efficient by delivering materiel solutions to the Soldier that

increase readiness and combat effectiveness.

■ Asset visibility (GCSS-Army and LMP in coordination with DLA) – 2014: migrate active radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags to ISO 18000-7 – 2015: support unit item unique identification (IUID) marking of legacy assets – 2017: integrate IUID functionality with DLA DSS and EBS and Army ERPs

■ Cloud based computing – Consolidation of infrastructure – Standardized support services

Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army)

■ Increment I – In operation at 11th ACR (NTC) since Dec. 2007; successful operational test in Oct. 2011 at 2/1 AD (Ft. Bliss) – Wave 1: Fielding automated inventory/financial management to 14,000 users through

4th quarter FY15 (now 50% fielded) – Wave 2: Modernizes logistics and enables financial audit readiness; will be fielded to

150,000 users (2nd quarter FY15 – 4th quarter FY17) • 2,200+ property books and associated maintenance / unit supply • SAP Defense Public Sector (DFPS) enables multiple command and control

structures in the Army; Mobile Defense Solution supports disconnected maintenance operations

■ Increment II in planning stages – business intelligence & Army Workload and

Performance System

Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army (IPPS-A)

■ IPPS-A is a web-based human resources (HR) system with a comprehensive personnel and pay record for each Soldier, regardless of component. Currently under development, IPPS-A will alleviate the Army’s reliance on over 40 legacy systems. IPPS-A will offer Soldiers, leaders, and HR professionals a single HR system that triggers Soldier pay actions in response to personnel information changes.

■ Increment I

– For the first time, the Soldier Record Brief (SRB) is a standardized report for all Army components, interfacing with 15 systems. More than 1.1 million Soldiers received access to IPPS-A and their SRB: • Army National Guard (provisioned by May 2014) • Active Army (provisioned by Aug. 2014) • Army Reserve (provisioned by Nov. 2014)

■ Increment II

– Anticipates receiving Milestone B for engineering, manufacturing and development in Dec. 2014

– Currently in source selection

Page 11: AFCEA Belvoir STEM Day Symposium

Technology Needed: ERPs

■ Logistics: LMP/GCSS-Army and AESIP Hub enables total asset visibility – Aggregation of national and tactical logistics information in the AESIP Hub as a key

portion of the logistics business intelligence strategy enables unprecedented total asset availability

– Condition based maintenance’s store and forward effort moves maintenance data from the platform sensors to the enterprise for near real time fleet readiness

■ HR: PeopleSoft Human Capital Management 9.2

■ Finance: in-memory computing solution

Network Operations (NetOps)

Key Take-Aways: - Enterprise Service Management System as a Service (ESMSaaS) will deliver an easy to use,

reliable, and secure Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) capability as a managed service.

- Execute ESMSaaS globally across the LandWarNet, and for interested mission partners. - Integrate ESMSaaS with tactical and Joint ITSM services/platforms. - Goal is to have the global fielding complete by end of FY17.
