The countless strong friendships Danihas developed during her time at Annerley FC are atestament to the kind, generous and devotedmember of the club that she has been.

This weekend sees us hosting UQFC in whatis sure to be a very tough encounter. We arecoming off very poor performances thathave resulted in two heavy losses, whichsees us at the bottom of the ladder. Havingsaid that, we have continued to work hard inorder to get our season underway.
With a number of injuries to key personnel, it makes things more difficult, but I am very confident in my squad andI know they have massive hearts and will bounce back stronger thanever. Best of luck of to both teams, I'm sure it will be a great match.
Coach's Corner! with Anthony Costa
Previous Women's Results...Last week our BWPL team lost 4-2 to Logan Lightning in a toughaway fixture. Our City League 5 women won 2-1 over BrightonBulldogs, taking them to the top of the ladder. Both City League 1and 4 games were cancelled due to wet weather.

The Men's City teams have been going well, witha 2-2-2 win-draw-loss ratio. As I have previouslystated, with the stop-start nature of thecompetitions due to rain etc, all the teams willimprove markedly after Easter.
This week City 1, 2 and 3 are playing Redlands who always provide a very difficult opposition, whilst City 4 playSouthside Eagles who are also difficult to master. Training has beenexceptional and very well attended which is good news. We also thinkthat the quality of players in the City League will provide the muchneeded depth that is required for our Capital One and Reserves sides, which will be most beneficial to the club. Goodluck to all Annerleyteams this week. We’re blue, we’re white, we’re ... dynamite!
Coach's Corner! with Rob Monteverde
Previous Men's Results...Capital 1 lost 1-0 in a tight encounter against league leaders Bayside Utd. The reserves werebeaten 4-0. City 2 and 3 both came from behind to record 1-1 draws against Toowong FC andKPR, respectively. City 4 lost in a close game against Easts, 2-1. City 1 match against Easts waspostponed.

Full name: Emily Joy SimmsNickname(s): Simmsy (Miss Annerley is not anickname; it is a prestigious position)Current Annerley team: BWPLPreffered position: No. 10 (sweet, creativeliberty)Favourite jersey number? The highestnumber possible. It makes me feel more like‘one of the people’. Greatest footballing achievement? When Iwas 16 I made the U17 QLD Women’s team. Ithought my football career was in full swing.Nationals began and I didn’t start a match, never mind play more than a half. In betweenmatches though, I performed various skits andapplied a full bottle of fake tan to my body for asmall payment. I was the little orange jokemonkey, trading dignity for laughs within theprospective Matildas’ camp. After the week mycoach confirmed I was picked predominantlyfor entertaining purposes and thus, I fulfilledthese duties. I may not have excelled on thefield per se, but boy did I shine back at thatresort.
Full name: Grant Stuart GoughNickname(s): Mostly known as Glenaround Annerley FC due to Joe Wood.Apparently when I get a few too manyinto me I turn into a “hard drinking, harddancing, hanky waving party animal".Current Annerley team: Captain of City1’s until Tim Varitimos leads this so calledcoup to have me sacked from the top job.Favourite Jersey Number: Why? 11, dueto a mate at another club I played for inLismore wanting the number and mebeing in the position of authority I haddecided I would be 11 EVERY WEEK!Most embarrassing footballingmoment? Probably missing so manysitters my own father giving me thenickname “crooked foot”.Best ever goal celebration? Afterattending my first ever doof I replicated acertain dance move someone was doingthere, which looked like me humping thecorner flag in the end. If anyone has aVHS I can show you video evidence.
I'd trade places with Ronaldo, Firstyou get the money, then you getthe power, then you get thewomen.
