MISSION STATEMENT
The Mission of AIIAS is to develop leaders through distinctively Seventh-day Adventist graduate education, excelling in spirituality, research, instruction, and service to the church and society.
VISION STATEMENT
The vision of AIIAS is to be recognized locally and internationally for quality Christian education and competent, service-oriented graduates. AIIAS will be a family-friendly environment, responsive to student and community needs, embracing culture and diversity.
ABOUT AIIAS
AIIAS traces its beginnings to 1957 when the regional office of the Adventist church established and funded a graduate program to train church leaders for Asia.
In 1978, these programs were organized into a theological seminary known as the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, Far East. Graduate programs steadily expanded to include education, administration, public health and nursing. These programs were organized into a graduate school.
On January 31, 1986, AIIAS came into being by Philippine Presidential Decree 2021 as an international, graduate-level institution. The charter provided for two schools: the Theological Seminary (ThS) and the School of Graduate Studies (SGS).
In 1991, AIIAS transferred to its present location in Silang, Cavite. On October 6, 1996, AIIAS became the fourth institution of higher learning operated by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and the first outside of North America. This expanded the stated mission of AIIAS to include preparing leaders for the developing world beyond the traditional focus of Asia.
From the beginning AIIAS has offered master’s level extension programs at locations throughout the region in settings such as universities and church administrative offices.
AIIAS continues to spread its influence in both the traditional classroom and through world wide virtual education. The
Division of Online Learning was established in 2003 to offer quality, Christian-oriented graduate education to professionals
wherever they might be.

peopleOur students come from over 50
countries, representing every continent except Antarctica, many of whom have
been honored teachers, business people and church leaders before coming to
AIIAS. Our distinguished international faculty and staff are from 6 continents
and 18 different countries. Twenty-seven are doctorally qualified faculty members.
14 |
In spite of their cultural differences, the students study in groups.
Small classroom instruction is an advantage for the students here in AIIAS, because each of their questions can be addressed in the class.
| 15
16 |
The Students who come to AIIAS often bring their families with them, which results in a very unique, diverse and long-lasting friendship among children of different cultures and races.
| 17
The AIIAS campus serves as a spiritual haven for everyone who comes within its walls It is common to see students praying here. It is the desire of some AIIAS professors to emulate Jesus’ style of teaching in the midst of nature.
18 |
The students with similar interests are encouraged to use their talents in serving God An example is through music AIIAS is home to several choirs, vocal groups, and instrumental ensembles.
Professional clubs are also organized by each department, to help in the development of the students in their specific fields of emphasis.
| 19
With the presence of more than 50 nationalities on campus, students of the same cultural background also form “communities” to give them a little “taste” of home, while they stay at AIIAS.
20 |
| 21
AIIAS is a melting pot of nationalities It provides a unique atmosphere of unity in diversity, and gives a Christian an inspiring view of what life would be like in heaven, where all of God’s people lived together in harmony, despite tongue, color, and culture.
