PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Advances in diagnosis and management of breast cancer are occurring rapidly. New knowledge in genetics, molecular biology, as well as targeted and radiation therapy have allowed for better outcomes and potentially lower incidences. Due to advancements, breast cancer is no longer the number one cause of mortality in women. Covenant Cancer Care Center Second Annual Symposium “Advances in Oncology: Focus on Breast Cancer” will bring together national, as well as regional clinicians, to discuss the latest information on management of hormone receptor positive breast cancer, breast reconstruction, value in cancer rehabilitation, breast cancer screening and management guidelines, radiation therapy and breast conserving therapy in the management of DCIS. The most current information on recently approved treatments and outcomes will be emphasized.
