This two-‐day interacDve course is intended to help OTL-‐HNS residents rapidly acquire advanced airway skills. It features lectures and demonstraDons by expert faculty, hands-‐on surgical skills pracDcum on mannequins, live and cadaveric animal models, and numerous interacDve simulaDon scenarios of airway crises.
With guidance from experts, residents will perform procedures on fresh cadavers, i.e.: • Laryngotracheoplasty with AugmentaDon • Subglogc & Tracheal ResecDon • Slide Tracheoplasty • HarvesDng and shaping of rib grais, etc..
Residents will parDcipate in high-‐fidelity, interacDve scenarios that simulate a variety of difficult airway situaDons in various segngs. Group debriefing with experts aier each scenario, with emphasis on improving medical experDse, crisis resource management and decision-‐making skills.
On live pigs, residents will learned advanced airway endoscopy skills, such as removal of difficult foreign bodies, and management of their complicaDons.

Session B (Ste-‐JusIne SimulaIon Center) 4 High-‐ Realism SimulaDon Scenarios
Session C (McGill SimulaIon Center) Lecture on Crisis Resource Management 4 High-‐Realism SimulaDon Scenarios
Session D (McGill SimulaIon Center) Hands-‐on PracDcum of Technical skills on • Cadaveric Animal + Human Models • Task Trainers / Mannequins Lunch will be provided. Closing Remarks on Day 2

The overall goal of this simulaDon-‐based course is to provide OTL-‐HNS residents the opportunity to gain important decision-‐making capabiliDes, master surgical skills and improve their team skills with regards to airway management.
Residents will pracDce procedures such as: • Advanced Flexible Bronchoscopy and
video-‐assisted laryngoscopy • Advanced Emergency Surgical Airway • Balloon DilataDon etc…
We reserve the right to cancel this course due to insufficient registraDons or circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, registrants will be noDfied as soon as possible, and registraDon fees will be refunded in full. However, we are not liable for loss, damages or other expenses that such cancellaDons may cause.
For registrants, a noDce of cancellaDon must be received in wriDng 10-‐business days prior to the event. A $50 processing fee will be charged for cancellaDons received on or before October 1, 2016. No refunds will be offered aier this cancellaDon date.
