Kershaw super-sized the Reverb. Like the original, this one is compact and lightweight—great for outdoor activities. But now it has a longer, upswept blade with plenty of belly for e cient slicing. Yet we kept the slim height and width. So while the Reverb XL is substantial, it’s still not bulky in your pocket.

The Kershaw Epistle has everything you need in a pocketknife and nothing you don’t. This minimalist design is slim and easy-carry. To get the knife down to an impressively light 2.1 ounces, Kershaw left much of the handle back open—which also makes for easy cleaning. The pocketclip has two cutouts that are unique to the Epistle.

The Mixtape is designed to provide a perfect mix of the qualities you want in a lightweight, easy-carry pocketknife. We lightened the weight with handle cutouts, a glass- lled-nylon handle, and no backspacer. That makes it as easy to clean as it is to carry. The Mixtape opens manually with a thumb disk.

The Kershaw Reverb is ideal for camping, and outdoor activities. Its light weight design and built-in carabiner clip makes it easy to clip to backpack or harness. The Reverb is a manual opening knife that offers a reliable blade of 8Cr13MoV that takes and holds its sharp edge. Titanium carbo-nitride coating on the grinds provides additional protection. For safe use, the Reverb has a secure frame lock. It’s also equipped with a special deep-carry pocketclip that allows for extra-deep carry securely down in your pocket.

This sci- -inspired knife is very modern and

comfortably lightweight. The Decibel’s slim, linear design

is emphasized bydark matte-gray, titanium-carbo-nitride coating on both blade and handle. This nish is offset by

an aluminum pivot collar and backspacer anodized in blue. The Decibel is a fully manual

knife, yet can be opened one-handed with the thumb stud.

Kershaw and custom knifemaker Les George took inspiration from a classic US

World War II trench knife to create the XCOM. But instead of being a fixed

blade, the XCOM is a convenient folder. Like its forebear, it features a symmetrical, spear- point

blade that’s great for piercing and cutting, yet is sharpened on only one side. It’s a tough, durable workhorse.

The Taskmaster Saw is an excellent

for camping or hunting trips—compact and tough

enough to take on even sizable branches.—but it’s also perfect for backyard tasks.and pruning.

The high-carbon tool steel teeth zip right through your job. The Taskmaster’s blade locks open

while you’re working so there’s no danger of having the blade fold back on you. To release the blade, just push the

lock button and fold the blade back into the handle. The textured handle with rubber overmolding provides a secure,

non-slip grip and is drilled to accept a lanyard.

BLADE STEEL

SANDVIK 14C28NThis high-performance steel was developed in a partnership between Kershaw and Sandvic steel. Offers excellent corrosion resistance and the ability to be hardened to 58-60 Rockwell.

8CR13MOVKershaw precision heat-treats 8Cr13MoV steel to bring out its very best high performance characteristics: the ability to take and hold an edge, strength, and hardness.

8CR14MOV The formula for this steel has additional chromium for added stain resistance. It also benefits from Kershaws expertise in presision heat treatment.

420J Highly stain resistant, but ductile. This steel is excellent for use where “flex” is desirable, for example, in fillet knives.

420HC This modified 420HC steel has higher amounts of carbon and chromium to boost hardenability and corrosion resistance. It is an excellent everyday steel: tough, corrosion resistant, easy to sharpen and takes a good edge.

CPM154 This powdered metallurgy steel has a more uniform distribution of carbides so it takes and holds an excellent edge. Also offers excellent corosion resistance, wear resistance, and toughness.

S30V All-around premium knife steel takes and holds an edge extremely well and is also very tough and wear resistant.

D2 This “semi-stainless” tool steel is known for excellent wear resistance and good toughness.

65MN A tough, durable carbon steel designed for hard-use applications such as Kershaw’s Camp Series machetes.

3CR13 A value-priced high-chromium stainless steel.

4CR13 A value-priced steel; very highly stain resistent.

BEAD-BLASTED FINISH The knife blade is “blasted” or sprayed with a mixture of fine media, including glas and aluminium oxide beads, under high speed and pressure. This smooths the blade surface and creates a soft, non reflective, matte look. Depending on the media, this finish can produce a darker or lighter blade colour.

BLACK-OXIDE COATING A chemical bath converts the surface of the steel to magnetite; it enhances appearence and adds some corrosion resistance.

BLACKWASH FINISH Our BlackWash finish produces a vintage look like that of a well used tool or favourite , broken-in pair of jeans. Kershaw products may have DLC BlackWash or Black-oxide BlackWash finishes.

DLC COATING Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating displays properties similair to those of natural diamond, including hardness, wear resistance, and reduced friction.

DUAL FINISH Sometimes Kershaw will combine two different blade finishes on a single blade, for example, Satin finish on the blade upper and stonewash on the lower part of the blade

POWDERCOAT The coating is applied as a fine powder and cured under heat. This creates a smooth, even, and tough coating.

SATIN FINISH A Kershaw Satin finish with typically show a faint pattern of vertical lines across the blade. It is a shinier finish than bead blasting and somewhat lighter in colour.

STONEWASHED FINISH Blades are tumbled with ceramic “stones,” which give blade surface a desirable roughened or scuffed look. The look can be pronounced or subtle. The finish helps hide scratches and fingerprints.

TITANIUM CARBO-NITRATE Kershaw also uses titanium carbo-nitrate to produce an attractive black or grey blade coating that increases the blade’s hardness, helps maintain the edge, and increase the lifetime of the blade.

TITANIUM OXIDE When oxygen is introduced into the PVD process, the result is Kershaws spectacular “rainbow” finishes. The rainbow Chive, Scallion, and Leek feature this multicoloured finish.
