OverviewThe symposium is targeted especially to Advanced Practice Providers, such as Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nurse Anesthetists, Nurse Midwives and Physician Assistants from throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Topics include pharmacotherapeutics in caring for patients with CHF, COPD, rheumatic diseases, delirium, sexually transmitted infections and an update on contraceptives, bipolar disorders and ADHD management, and management of clients with substance abuse disorders.

Objectives• Discuss treatment and management of Congestive Heart Failure• Identify new therapies for management of COPD• Discuss current treatment for Rheumatoid Arthritis and monitoring

parameters for new drug therapies• Describe the pharmacological management of patients with

Delirium in the Acute Care Setting• Review the treatment of sexually transmitted infections and

discuss new updates in contraceptives • Discuss current treatment regimen for patients with bipolar

disorders and ADHD• Describe updates in the pharmacotherapeutic interventions in

breast cancer treatment

Continuing EducationNursing: Up to 7.0 Pharmacotherapeutic Contact Hours. VCU Health is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Virginia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Midwives: VCU Health Continuing Medical Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Registration InformationThe registration fee of $135 includes speaker handouts, CNE and CME continuing education credit, continental breakfast, break refreshments, and luncheon. Minimum and maximum numbers for attendance at this conference have been established, and we reserve the right to substitute speakers/topics, or cancel if necessary. Register early.

Cancellation PolicyFull refund, minus $15 processing fee for written cancellations postmarked by Saturday, March 24, 2018. No refunds will be given for cancellations postmarked after this date.

ParkingYou can park at the Westin Hotel’s parking lot free of charge. Further information will be included with your confirmation letter.
