• INTRODUCTION• NETWORK ANALYSIS OF LTE• LTE & LTE ADVANCE TECHNOLOGY• LTE ADVANCE KEY FEATURES• DIFFERENCE B/W 1G 2G 3G 4G• ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF LTE• CONCLUSION

• LTE (Long Term Evolution) is a wireless broadband technology designed to support roaming Internet access via cell phones and handheld devices. Because LTE offers significant improvements over older cellular communication standards.

LTE (Long term evolution)

ADVACNCE 4G LTE• In LTE-Advanced focus is on higher capacity:The driving

force to further develop LTE towards LTE–Advanced .• Increased peak data rate, DL 3 Gbps, UL 1.5 Gbps• Higher spectral efficiency, from a maximum of

16bps/Hz in R8 to 30 bps/Hz in R10• Increased number of simultaneously active subscribers• Improved performance at cell edges, e.g. for DL 2x2

MIMO at least 2.40 bps/Hz/cell.

NETWROK ANALYSIS OF LTE

LTE & LTE advance technology

• LTE and Wimax technologies are available since

2009/2006.

• Current versions are called ‘LTE-Advanced’ and

WirelessMAN Advanced respectively.

• Qualifies IMT-advanced technologies make use of same

key technologies:

– Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDMA)

– Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO)

Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO)

• Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) is one of the most popular Advanced Antenna Technologies which is supported by LTE. The salient features of MIMO is that it offers higher throughput for a given bandwidth and higher link range for a given power value.

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing access (OFDMA)

Different sub channels may be allocated to different users as a multiple access mechanism. This type of multi access scheme is called OFDMA.

Long Term Evolution(LTE)-Advanced: Key Features

• Features:-– Compatibility of services– Enhanced peak data rates to support advanced

services and applications (100 Mbit/s for high and 1 Gbit/s for low mobility).

– Spectrum efficiency: 3 times greater than LTE.– Peak spectrum efficiency: downlink – 30

bps/Hz; uplink – 6.75 bps/Hz.

Advantages and disadvantages of LTE

ADVANTAGE

• The first and also the main advantage of LTE is it decrease the traffic communications while sending data.

• LTE offers faster data rate transfer which in higher download and upload rate

• it will also reduce the problem of lagging in internet connection.

DISADVANTAGE

• This Technology need the usage of additional antennas at network base stations for data transmission.• This increase the cost for the users to

buy a new cell phones to make use of new network infrastructure.

CONCLUSION

• As it is clear that new technologies are posing challenges to the world at large and SATRC countries in particular.

• There is a need to face the challenges posed by the new technologies and adopt their policies and planning for the new changes in the environment.
