Coleg Cambria updateColeg Cambria is the name of the new college thatwill be created following the merger of DeesideCollege and Yale College, Wrexham.
Coleg Cambria will begin operating on the 1st of August2013 and will be one of the largest colleges in the UKserving over 7,000 full-time students and 30,000 part-time students.
Both colleges have a long and proud history of providingexcellent teaching and learning and working together inpartnership. The new college will continue to servelearners, stakeholders and the wider community withdeveloping enhanced opportunities and choice ofcurriculum.

Case StudyEssential Skills Classes offer New Lease of Life
Lorraine has not always been such a confidentperson. Lorraine used to find it difficult to talkabout her problems with literacy and numeracybut following Basic Skills classes at Deeside College Lorrainesteadily developed her confidence after settling into the group.Lorraine had difficulty with spelling and often mis-read words andso was referred to the Study Skills Department who diagnosed heras having dyslexic tendencies and Irlen Syndrome.
Lorraine has gone on to achieve qualifications in Maths and English.She also won the Deeside College Essential Skills Student of theYear Award 2012 and overall Adult Learner of the Year following aglowing tribute by her tutors who were impressed by her progressand determination. Lorraine now writes speeches and givespresentations to audiences of up to 200 people for the Kindness InMind (KIM) project that she is heavily involved with.

Are you aged under 16?
Please note, due to funding restrictions, we have to charge thefull cost of courses to students who are under 16 years old at1st September 2013. A parent or guardian will need toaccompany under 16s to classes and will also need to pay forthe course.
Fees and Financial Assistance
You may be entitled to financial assistance (a reduction of up to50% of the course fees on most, but not all, courses).Concessions apply to the cost of the course. Complete Beginners No prior knowledge of the language required.
Beginners continuation (Term 2) New students may enrol if they have some basic phrasesin the language already.
Year 2 Learners have completed a complete beginners courseor have prior knowledge of the language at a basic level.
IntermediateLearners have some knowledge of grammaticalstructures such as present and past tenses and alsoholiday and general vocabulary.
Please check with the tutor if you are unsure of your level.
New students who wish to join a ContinuationClass should speak to the course tutor beforeenrolling.
Most Welsh classes are organised on a 10 weekmodular system. Continuation courses will run inJanuary and April subject to viable numbers.
All students will need to purchase theaccompanying book and CDS.
