ADMISSION PROCEDURES
(A) JEE (MAIN) RANK 2017 BASED ADMISSION PROCEDURE
1. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Please note carefully the following before filling the application form / applying online:
(i) Merely filling an application form does not entitle the candidate for admission or ensure call for counseling. The admission and counseling call is purely Merit based. No refund of application fee is entitled in case candidate fails to get short-listed for counseling call.
(ii) There is a common application form (Off Line or online for JEE based admissions for four Universities).
(iii) A separate application form(10+2 marks based admission) should be filled for students applying to JUET, Guna and JU, Anoopshahr under 10+2 marks merit category. No additional cost is needed if the student opts forJUET, Guna and/or JU Anoopshahr under JEE category.
(iv) Non submission of application form before due date shall debar a student from being considered for the merit for these Universities.
(v) The Universities do not admit students based on central counseling by CBSE.
(vi) Candidates must have appeared in the JEE-2017 conducted by the CBSE.
(vii) In Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Programs, 50% of the seats allocated to the programs are open for candidates based on JEE (Main) rank 2017 and remaining 50% through 10+2 exam scores Candidates appearing in JEE and those with Biology/Biotechnology and Physics combination at 10+2 level can apply for both the options, but must fill up separate Application Forms, as prescribed.

3. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for All Programs (Except Biology/Biotechnology based admission to Biotechnology and Bioinformatics programs)
• Criteria of subjects in 10+2 exam (JEE based admissions, All Universities):
The minimum academic qualification for admission to any one of the programs is as laid down by JEE. The candidate should have a pass in the 10+2 or its equivalent (as defined by JEE) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, and Computer Science as optional subjects. (For subjects criteria at JUET, Guna and JU, Anoopshahr under 10+2 marks merit entry see separate note below).
• Criteria of Qualifying Examination
All candidates who are offered provisional admission will be required to produce proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) to the University authority latest by September 30, 2017 failing which, such provisional admission will stand cancelled. If the results of qualifying examinations are likely to be declared after September 30, 2017 the candidates are advised to seek admission next year as no representations for extension of dates, for any reason whatsoever, shall be entertained.
• Criteria for Date of Birth
Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1996 (Date of Birth as recorded in the High School/Secondary Education Board/University Certificate only will be taken as authentic) are eligible to apply for admission.
• General Instructions on conditions of Eligibility
– Candidates must produce certificate of proof of the above conditions at the time of counseling
failing which they will be disqualified.

– If an applicant is found ineligible even at a later date after admission to the University, his/her
admission will stand cancelled. All admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the
original certificates/ documents of the candidates. The decision of the Admissions Committee of
the University regarding the eligibility of any applicant shall be final.
4. REGISTRATION / APPLICATION PROCESS FOR JEE BASED ADMISSIONS
The process shall involve following:
(a) Registration of candidature by filling online at www.getadmissions.com or sending the offline prescribed
application form.
(b) Admission at the time of counseling shall be based on JEE 2017 (Main) rank and the choice of
Universities/ Branch exercised by the candidate.
(c) The schedule of counseling shall be as below (common to all four Universities):

Please note that venue of counseling for admission to any of the four Universities will be as per merit of JEE
Main Rank 2017 and NOT as per location of the candidate.
• How to Obtain and Fill the Application Form
The students may fill the application forms in any of the following ways.
(a) Apply on line using net banking/credit/debit card on web site www.getadmissions.com.
(b) Apply online and make payment through bank draft in favour of “Jaypee Institutes Admission
Account” payable at Noida/Delhi.
(c) Obtain application form and brochure from any of the four campuses by cash payment of Rs 1200/- or
sending a bank draft of Rs. 1200/- to JIIT favoring “Jaypee Institutes Admission Account” payable at
Noida/Delhi.
• Where to send. The completed Application Form -irrespective of Universities applied for and ,whether
purchased or print out of the on line application must be sent to the following address:

• Apply Online (Using net banking/Credit/Debit Card). Do not forget to post hard copy of the application
to Registrar JIIT, after filling the online application.
– Log on to www.jiit.ac.in and click on – JEE Based Admissions 2017 or directly log on to
www.getadmissions.com/jaypee (authorized agency for online application).
– Thereafter, candidate will be prompted to fill up the application and make the payment through
credit/debit card/net banking.
– Once the payment has been successfully made the candidate shall be allotted an Application
ID number, which must be saved for future reference. The candidate shall also get an E-Mail of
confirmation.
– There is an option of attaching/uploading the photograph, signature of candidate and parents on
the online application itself.

– Do not send the application without ID number which would have been generated automatically on
freezing the form while you fill the same on the internet.
– Thereafter send the print out to the Admission Cell, JIIT. In case you are not able to upload the
photograph, then you should take a printout and affix recent colored passport size photograph on
the printout and then send it to the Registrar, JIIT.
– You should make a photocopy and retain it for your records.
– Write “ONLINE REGISTRATION-INTERNET BANKING ” on the envelope before posting.
• Apply Online (Using Demand Draft) – Do not forget to post hard copy of the application to Registrar
JIIT, after filling the online application.
Please follow the above procedure and for fee payment attach DD of Rs. 1200/- in favour of “Jaypee Institutes
Admission Account” payable at Noida/Delhi.
Important to note before submission of Application Form.
• Candidates who procure the brochure and application form after payment of Rs 1200/-, are not required
to make any further payment while submitting the application form.
• It is mandatory to fill JEE-2017 Roll number and application form number before submission of
Application. Any applications received without JEE Roll Number / Application No. shall be rejected and
Candidate shall have no claim for the Merit lists.
Last date of application - JEE Based application for All Universities – 20 June, 2017
• Applications received after the last date will not be accepted and candidate shall have no claim for the
Merit lists.
• Display of Application Status : Candidates shall generally be able to see the receipt details of their
applications and essential data on the web site only after 15 April 2017 or 07 days of submission of the
form thereafter. Non receipt of application is responsibility of the candidate.
• Candidates are also advised to keep the original receipt of the Speed Post/Registered Post issued
by the post office and the photocopy of the filled Application Form. In any case all issues regarding
non receipt of form must be resolved before declaration of merit. No appeals thereafter are acceptable.
5. ELIGIBILITY OF MERIT - Candidates shall be considered for meriting process once they meet all of the
following criteria:
• Who apply in the prescribed application form / apply online.
• Whose applications are found valid.
• The applications are received before the due date.
• Who fulfill the eligibility criteria.
6. DRAWING THE MERIT LISTS :
• The merit amongst applications received for admission to Jaypee Universities(s) shall be drawn based
only on the overall All India Rank of JEE (Main) 2017 examination.
• JEE Score /Ranking in any category or state including general etc shall not be taken into account.
• The merit list for SC/ST candidates shall be made by applying the cut off 10% below the final rank (in
JEE (main) exam) obtained by the candidates short listed in the general category.

7. DISPLAY OF MERIT
• The position obtained by the candidate in the Merit lists shall be loaded on the websites for all candidates
whose applications are found valid.
• It is the responsibility of the candidate to check the web site(s) for merit lists within 4 days of last date
of application to know about their counseling schedule, guidelines and instructions.
• Ignorance of counseling schedule shall not be accepted as an excuse to attend or claim for counseling
at a later date, other than specified and scheduled.
8. SCHEDULE OF COUNSELING
Rough time schedule for meriting and counseling shall be as given below:
(a) Last date of receipt of applications – up to 20 June 2017
(b) Merit Lists to be announced – By 25 June 2017
(c) Issue of Call letter through E mail – within 1 day of merit lists being displayed
(d) Counselling (Common to All four Universities) – 01-02 July 2017 at JIIT Noida, 04 July 2017 at
JUITWaknaghat, and 07 July 2017 at JUET Guna.
(f) Registration and Commencement of classes – 20 July,2017
9. INVITATION FOR COUNSELING
Invite for counseling shall be sent/ available through following ways.
• Details including dates and venues shall be uploaded on the website.
• A written communication in the form of an email. Thus, all candidates must mention their E Mails
correctly while filling the application form.
• Candidates whose names appear on the merit lists displayed on the website, but who do not receive
the written communication for counseling, must also appear for counseling on the date(s) notified.
10. COUNSELLING
• A combined counseling for JIIT-Noida, JUIT-Waknaghat, JUET-Guna & JU-Anoopshahr shall be held
from 01-07 July, 2017.
• Merited Candidates, who are called for counseling, must go through counseling/admission instructions
carefully regarding place of counseling, filling up of choices of programs & University. These instructions
shall be clearly mentioned in counseling letters. Ignorance of laid down instructions shall be the
responsibility of the candidate.
• Candidates shall be allowed to exercise choice of only one University at the time of counseling
which means that no inter-institutional transfers shall be allowed after allocation of seat.
• Candidates shall be allowed to exercise Choice for maximum of four (4) programs whether as a selected
or waitlisted candidate within the University chosen. Thus the candidate shall have the option of up-
gradation in branches as per the Merit and Priority exercised but within the same University. The
candidate shall have the option of freezing the admission, if so desired, any time before next updation
is carried out as per the schedule to be announced with the counseling instructions.
11. ALLOCATION OF SEATS
• Seats in the study programs shall be allotted on the basis of preferences indicated at the time of
counseling, strictly in order of merit drawn based on overall All India Rank of JEE (Main) 2017
• For the Biotechnology and Bioinformatics programs 50% of seats shall be allotted through JEE -2017
merit. The balance 50% seats in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics programs shall be allotted on the
basis of merit at 10+2 level or equivalent for which separate application is required.

• 10% seats at JUIT, Waknaghat only are reserved for Himachal Pradesh (HP) category candidates in
that the candidate should have qualified the 10+2 examination from any of the schools/institutions
located in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Being a bonafide HP resident does not automatically qualify
a candidate for the HP quota seat.
12. FEE STRUCTURE
Please note that the Tuition fee for the students being admitted for Academic Session 2017-18 is as follows:-

(b) JEE Based application for All Universities – 20 June, 2017
13. REFUND POLICY
If a student leaves the program, fee shall be refunded as per UGC D.O Letter no. 1-3/2007(CPP-II) dated 6th
December 2016 as below:

** 10% of the aggregate fee from the refundable amount shall be deducted as processing charges.
Fees shall be refunded to an eligible student within 15 days from the date of receiving a written application
from him/her.
Further, it may be noted that the Hostel charges shall be refunded on pro-rata basis (calendar month based
deductions – part month stay treated as full month) starting from the date of occupying the hostel seat.

(B) (10+2) MERIT BASED ADMISSION PROCEDURE IN ENGINEERING PROGRAMS AT JUET, GUNA and JU ANOOPSHAHR ONLY
These instructions should be read in conjunction with the admission procedure for JEE based admission. The
under mentioned instructions are only relevant extracts for 10+2 marks based admission for Jaypee University,
Anoopshahr or JUET, Guna only.
General instructions
Please carefully note the following before filling the application form/applying online:
(i) Merely filling an application form does not entitle the candidate for admission or ensure call for counseling.
The admission and counseling call is purely merit based. No refund of application fee is entitled in case
candidate is not called for counseling for failing to qualify in the merit list.
(ii) A separate application form must be filled by students seeking admission (10+2) basis. However no
additional application fee is needed if the student opts under JEE category also.
(iii) For Jaypee University, Anoopshahr, 50% seats shall be allotted through JEE main overall all India rank. The
balance seats shall be allotted through merit drawn on marks merit of 10+2 examinations. The seats are
inter-transferable in either category.
(iv) For JUET, Guna, All seats shall be allotted through JEE main overall all India rank. If the seats remain
vacant, remaining seats shall be allotted through merit drawn on marks merit of 10+2 examinations.
Eligibility Criteria
(i) Criteria of Subjects in 10+2 Examination
The candidate should have minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the 10+2 or its equivalent with Physics
and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and one out of :- Chemistry, Computer Sciences, Informatic
Practices, Multimedia & Web technology, Engineering Drawing, Engineering Graphics & English.
(ii) Criteria of Qualifying Examination

also required to take the necessary action as per the information hosted on the website from time to time.

(i) Counselling for JU-Anoopshahr or JUET, Guna under 10+2 marks merit category shall be held at JIIT, Noida.
and is tentatively schedule on 10 July, 2017.
(ii) Merited Candidates, who are called for counseling, must go through counseling/admission instructions
carefully regarding filling up of choices of programs.
(iii) Candidates shall be allowed to exercise choice for maximum of three (3) programs. Thus, the candidate shall
have the option of up gradation in branches as per the merit and priority exercised. The candidate shall have
the option of freezing the admission, if so desired, any time before next updation is carried out as per the
schedule to be announced with the counseling instructions.
Allocation of Seats
Seats in the study programs shall be allotted on the basis of preferences indicated at the time of counseling, strictly
in order of merit drawn based on 10+2 marks (three subjects including Physics and Mathematics).
(C) (10+2) MERIT BASED ADMISSION PROCEDURE(NON JEE STUDENTS) FOR BIOTECHNOLOGY/BIOINFORMATICS PROGRAMS AT JIIT, NOIDA AND JUIT WAKNAGHAT ONLY
1. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Please carefully note the following before filling the application form:
(i) Candidates seeking admission in Biotechnology & Bioinformatics programs at JIIT, Noida & JUIT, Waknaghat
shall have following allocation of seats:
(a) 50% seats in above programs shall be based on JEE (Main) 2017 overall all India rank. (Desirous
candidates should fill different JEE(MAIN) based on line application form for which separate instructions
have been listed).
(b) 50% seats in above programs shall be based on merit of marks in 10+2 examination with Biology/
Biotechnology & Physics as core subjects.
(c) The seats are inter-transferable in either category.
(d) A candidate with Mathematics and Biology/Biotechnology with Physics at 10+2 level can apply for both the
options as given in (a) and (b) above, but must fill up different and separate Application Forms as applicable.
(ii) Candidates have to apply on separate application forms to JIIT Noida and/or JUIT Waknaghat. Both the
forms are available at a cost of Rs. 1200/- whether the candidate wishes to apply to a single Universities
or both.
(iii) Please do not send the application form unless you have received the applicable 10+2 results. The
form will be rejected if this result is not mentioned.
2. APPLICATION PROCESS
Step-1 Obtaining the application form: Candidate can obtain through any one of the methods given below:
(a) Download: the forms from the website. www.jiit.ac.in, & www.juit.ac.in. The filled form should be sent to
respective Registrars, as per address given below. Please write “DOWNLOADED BIOLOGY/BIOTECHNOLOGY
BASED APPLICATION FORM” on the envelope before posting. The form should be sent along with a draft of
Rs. 1200/- in favor of “Jaypee Institutes Admission Account” payable at Noida/Delhi.
(b) Obtain the form by post by sending a draft of Rs. 1200/- in favor of “Jaypee Institutes Admission Account”
payable at Noida/Delhi.
(c) Obtain Application Forms from Campuses at Noida and Waknaghat by making a payment of Rs 1200/-
in cash or through Draft. (The draft should be in favor of “Jaypee Institutes Admission Account” payable at
Noida/Delhi).

(d) Apply on line using net banking/credit/debit card on web site www.getadmissions.com/jaypee. Do
not forget to post hard copy of the application after filling the online application, to respective Registrars,
as per address given below. Please write “ON LINE HARD COPY -BIOLOGY/BIOTECHNOLOGY BASED
APPLICATION FORM” on the envelope before posting.
• Log on to www.jiit.ac.in and click on –Bio Based Admissions 2017 or directly log on to www.getadmissions.
com/jaypee (authorized agency for online application).
• Thereafter, candidate will be prompted to fill up the application and make the payment through credit/

• Thereafter, candidate will be prompted to fill up the application.
• There is an option of attaching/uploading the photograph on the online application itself. In such a case

• Thereafter, send the print out to the Registrar, JIIT, along-with the Demand Draft (of Rs. 1200/-). In case
you are not able to upload the photograph, then you should take a printout and affix recent colored
passport size photograph on the printout and then send it to the Registrar, JIIT along-with the Demand
Draft as per address mentioned above.
• Do not send the application without ID number which would have been generated automatically on
freezing the form while you fill the same on the internet.
• Write the application ID No. behind the DD also.
• The Demand Draft (DD) should be of Rs. 1200/- in favor of “Jaypee Institutes Admission Account”
payable at Noida/Delhi.
• You should make a photocopy and retain it for your records.
• Write “ONLINE REGISTRATION WITH DEMAND DRAFT” on the envelope before posting.
Step-2 Sending the application form: Read following important Instructions for filling-up and sending the
application form:
(i) Separate application forms should be filled for JIIT, Noida and JUIT, Waknaghat respectively.
(ii) Cost of both the applications shall be Rs 1200/- only. In case candidate wishes to apply for one Universities
only, even then the cost shall remain Rs. 1200/-. Both the forms are available along-with a single brochure in
the same envelope or while filling the online application.

(iii) The candidate who purchases the brochure and application forms after payment of Rs. 1200/-, (either by DD or
by cash) is not required to make any further payment while submitting the application forms.
(iv) The candidates, who download the forms from the website, should send the forms to the respective
Registrar, as per address given below. However the demand draft of Rs. 1200/- should be made in favour of
“Jaypee Institutes Admission Account” payable at Noida/Delhi irrespective of the Universities that candidate
wishes to apply.
(v) Those applying on line will have the option of ticking both the Universities and there after two separate forms shall
be generated i.e one each for JIIT anf JUIT which should be sent to respective Registrars as per details above
(vi) How to attach draft while submitting application (Including with online application in draft mode)
• In case of applying to both the Universities the candidate should attach the original demand draft with
the application form/print out of the online application of JIIT, Noida and its photocopy with application
form/Print out of JUIT, Waknaghat.
• In case applying to JIIT, Noida only the original Draft shall be attached, as such, with the application
• In case applying to JUIT, Waknaghat only then the original draft shall be attached with the application
form. However the draft should be made in favor of “Jaypee Institutes Admission Account” payable at
Noida/Delhi
(vii) It is mandatory to fill 10+2 marks (and photocopy of mark sheet attached) before submission of application
form. Without marks the application shall be rejected.
(viii) Candidates are required to ensure that they submit the completed Application Form to reach on or before
the last date i.e 20 June 2017. Applications received after the last date will not be accepted. In case 10+2
results of CBSE are delayed, suitable amendment to the last date of submission shall be announced on the
web site. Forms cannot be delayed for want of 10+2 results of the state boards.

3. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
(i) Subjects in qualifying Exams
(Biology/Biotechnology based merit at 10+2 level) Physics & Biology/Biotechnology shall be the compulsory
subjects in 10+2 or equivalent examination. Besides above, the candidate can have any two out of Chemistry,
Computer Science, English and Maths as other subjects.
(ii) Year of Qualifying Examination
Those candidates appearing in the final examination in 2017 are also eligible for consideration of
provisional admission. All candidates who are offered provisional admission will be required to produce
proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) to the University authority latest
by September 30, 2017 failing which, such provisional admission will stand cancelled. If the results in
qualifying examinations are likely to be declared after September 30, 2017 the candidates are advised to
seek admission next year as no representations for extension of dates for any reason whatsoever, shall be
entertained.

(iii) Criteria for Date of Birth
Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1996 (Date of Birth as recorded in the High
School/Secondary Education Board/University Certificate only will be taken as authentic).
(iv) General Instructions
• Candidates must produce certificate of proof of the conditions in the above criteria at the time of
counseling failing which they will be disqualified.
• If an applicant is found ineligible even at a later date even, after admission to the University, his/her
admission will be cancelled. All admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original
certificates/documents of the candidates. The decision of the Admissions Committee of the University
regarding the eligibility of any applicant shall be final.
4. ALLOCATION OF SEATS
• Each University shall prepare its merit list separately and intimate to the candidates in writing as well as
loading the list on the website.
• All candidates must therefore, view the website around 27 June, 2017 (depending on the declaration of
10+2 results) to know about their seat allocation in respective Universities.
• Candidates whose names appear on the merit lists displayed on the website, but who do not receive the
written communication for admission must contact respective Registrars at mail IDs: [email protected]
• The last date for receiving the completed application form is 20 June, 2017 or within 10 days of declaration
of CBSE (10+2) results, whichever is later. In case 10+2 results are delayed, suitable amendment to the
last date of submission shall be announced on the web site Candidates are required to ensure that the
completed application/or print out of application along with Demand Draft in case of downloaded application
form is received before the last date.

CURRICULUM STRUCTURE
The under-graduate curricula at all the Jaypee Universities are following a common philosophy. The main features of this B.Tech. curriculum are:
• Choice based Credit System
• Structured choice of subjects offered in a wide spectrum of categories such as Basic Sciences and Engineering, Mathematics, Language skills, Social Sciences, Management besides Discipline specific core and elective subjects
• Emphasis on learning through doing – 2-4 Laboratory courses in each semester, big dose of Project work, Industry exposure etc.
• Value added courses to enhance skills in certain areas such as communication skills, computer languages, mathematics and others.
• Audit courses so that a student could widen his base of knowledge
• Sufficient flexibility in choosing subjects so that one could peruse a particular specialisation of choice
• Total credits to be earned 195 with about 22-28 credits each semester.
• An approximate division of credits into various categories is as follows:
– Language/Humanities & Social Science/Management 10-12%
– Basic Sciences & Engineering including Mathematics 25-30%
– Discipline specific Core content 30-35%
– Discipline specific Elective content 15-20%
– Project work/Internship 12-16%
• Weekly class-room contact time of about 25-30 hours. Typically, the contact time is divided into Lecture, Tutorial and Practical sessions in the ratio of 3:1:1
