VACANCY – TECHNICAL AUTHOR(INTERNAL/EXTERNAL)

DEPARTMENT: LDS: Logistic Documentation JOB LEVEL: 4.5

PURPOSE OF JOB

Development of modular technical modules for technical documentation in accordance with LSAR, product specifications and other related data sources.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

PLANNING – Plan all tasks required to develop the required logistic documentation modules to the required specifications.

CONTROL – Ensure that all tasks as planned are completed within the agreed schedule. Take corrective action immediately if required. Report on a weekly basis with regards to performance on schedule.

TECHNICAL WRITING – Study the required specifications, analyze the requirements with regards to the available software, provide inputs during the development of Detail Manual Plans and Documentation Format Specifications, undertake workshop exercises, take photographs, write text for the technical modules, compile the required documentation modules in accordance with the relevant specifications, perform spell checks and grammar checks during the development of the modules and confirm technical correctness of modules with the relevant design engineer.

QUALITY CONTROL – Perform quality control on all tasks during the development of the modules to ensure that the modules are in accordance with all the requirements.

CONFIGURATION CONTROL – Maintain directories and storage space for all modules developed and ensure total configuration control of electronic data with regards to issue dates and changes.

Apply all applicable DLS Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions to the best of your ability including Denel Employee Ethics Policy number 41.

CRITICAL SKILLS

- Must have sound knowledge of related software packages, i.e. MS Word, Excel, and Epic Editor.- Must have sound knowledge of military specifications with regards to logistic documentation.- Must have sound knowledge of LSA Records, Product Structures and Product Specifications.- Technical trade in related field or equivalent.- Communication skills- Excellent knowledge on English language , grammar and style-

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Technical writing diploma or equivalent.- N4 or Equivalent
