Attention:
The club is looking for submissions for the newsletter. This new section will be titled "AUTO -
BIOGRAPHY", the story of you and one of your Mustangs/FoMoCo vehicles. What we need is a photo of
the vehicle and about 100 words of description to go along with it. To help you, you may want to follow this
format: WHO (are you), WHAT (description of vehicle and changes/improvements made to original), WHEN
(did you purchase it), WHERE (did you purchase it), WHY (did you desire this vehicle).
This should all be forwarded to Ed Sindoni ([email protected]). If you need a photo for the submission,
also contact Ed by the end of September to arrange a "shoot" date.
Auto-Biography:
Bill Hamlin
1989 Ford Tempo
1989 Ford Tempo purchased new by Mrs. Bertha Jost of Hoosick NY in June 1989 @ Haynes Ford in Hoosick
Falls NY.
Car was used regularly for several years during summer months only, as Mrs. Jost wintered in Florida, storing
the car.
As Mrs. Jost's age advanced, car was driven less and less, only to be used by family members, and with her
strict supervision . Some years the car was only driven only 60 miles helping to keep the mileage low and in
pristine condition.
Sadly, nursing home care was needed for Mrs. Jost. The car was then passed on to her grandson, Mr. Ronald
Bovie of Hoosick Falls NY. in 2006.
I purchased the car from Mr. Bovie in 2007.
Car has 18,000 original miles. Only replacements needed so far have been tires and an exhaust system. Plugs,
wiring and paint remains original to the car. Air conditioning still operates as does all the electrical items in
the car.
Why I like the car: These cars were "throw away cars".....used and then gotten rid of. Very few exist and none
in the condition this is. I have never seen another one at any of the shows I get to. People comment on the car
and brings back memories of that period of time. I also like the color of the car. Very appealing.
