LOCAL PROCEDURESAircraft which operationally require speeds greater than 250 KIAS below 10,000’ must advise Air TrafficControl.Aircraft departing to Class G airspace shall change frequency when 3 NM from the Bankstown CTR boundary.Inbound aircraft requiring Rwy 11C/29C are to notify ATC on first contact.

LANE OF ENTRY D539A/B PROCEDURESClass E ops between 90NM N of Sydney and Mt McQuoid: IFR holding occurs in Class E airspace between40NM to 90NM N of Sydney (refer to Sydney Visual Navigation Chart). Pilots planning VFR flights in the vicinityof Mt McQuoid (MQD VOR/NDB) and beyond should, as far as is reasonable practicable, plan to avoid theClass E airspace in this area due to the intensity of IFR acft inbound to and holding for Sydney.Flights to Bankstown from the north shall track from Brooklyn Bridge to the South Dural Tanks, then via thenortheast shore of Prospect Reservoir to join the Bankstown circuit.Flights from Bankstown to the north shall track to Parramatta CBD, then Pennant Hills and Hornsby. Oncenorth of the Hornsby Railway Workshops, proceed either to the coast (track 085° M) or to Patonga. For noise abatement, pilots of multi-engine aircraft, except on climb or descent, should not operate below 1500'AGL in D539A/B unless operation at this altitude would jeopardize the safe conduct of the flight. If unsure of position, request assistance from Sydney (125.8 MHz).

FIXED WING CIRCUITSCircuit altitude — 1,000'.Unless otherwise advised by ATC, a pilot must report Downwind when starting or entering the downwind leg ofthe traffic circuit. If freq congestion prevents the call being made when starting the downwind leg, the pilot mustreport Mid-Downwind or Late-Downwind as appropriate.CLASS DCircuit ops are to be confined within a 2NM radius of apt.A traffic sequencing instruction shall remain valid for consecutive circuits unless a new sequence is advised byATC. Ops on Rwy 11C/29C shall conform to the 11L/29R circuit direction (i.e. 11C/11L - left circuit, 29C/29R -right circuit), unless otherwise advised by ATC.Practice instrument approaches may be approved by ATC.CAUTION: Helicopters overfly Rwys midfield at 500’.FIXED WING DEPARTURESAll aircraft requesting an Airways Clearance into Class C airspace shall report “Ready” on SMC freq 119.9 priorto leaving the run-up bays, to avoid congestion at the holding point.Departure Altitude (Sunrise-Sunset): 1000’ for Rwy 29, 1500’ for Rwy 11.Routes:a. HELICOPTER OPERATIONS NOTE: The following procedures apply SR-SS only. Helicopters shall use fixed wing procedures SS-SR.

Unless otherwise advised by ATC, all helicopter operations in the Bankstown CTR shall be conducted at 700'.The helicopter circuit is based on the helipad to the north of the 11/29 runway complex (the Main Pad). The cir-cuit direction shall conform with that of Rwy 11L, 18, 29R or 36, whichever is nominated as the active runway. The circuit shall be conducted within the fixed wing circuit. An additional helipad had been established to the NW of the rwy complex (the Western Pad) & is subject to thefollowing restrictions:a. available for take-off in the Rwy 11 direction and final approach in the Rwy 29 direction only;b. circuit training not permitted;c. practice go-around not permitted.Special helicopter check points have been devised to segregate helicopter traffic by having it arrive or depart, where possible, beneath the fixed wing circuit at right angles to, and midway along, the downwind leg. ATC willinstruct every Arrival/Departing helicopter as to the route to be flown. These check points are:a. CHOPPERS NORTH — Intersection of water pipeline and railway line north of Sefton golf course (2.5 NM

North);b. CHOPPERS SOUTH — Intersection of two creeks enclosing a sewerage treatment works (2.1 NM South);c. CHOPPERS WEST— Michels Patisserie located 1.2nm West of CHOPPERS NORTH on the water

pipeline.Departing helicopters shall advise their intentions or preferences with the "READY" report. For Rwy 29 circuitdiection: helicopters tracking to the North, track outbound via CHOPPERS WEST. For Rwy 11 circuit direction:helicopters departing to the North, track outbound via CHOPPERS NORTH. Departures via CHOPPERSNORTH shall continue northbound until clear of the CTR. Unless otherwise instructed by ATC, departures tothe south, after passing CHOPPERS SOUTH, shall turn right to track between 2RN and R555.Arriving helicopters shall make first contact with BK Twr on 132.8 at one of the VFR approach points (not at ahelicopter check point). Expect to join circuit on base for both circuit directions. For Rwy 29 circuit direction:helicopter arriving from the north, track inbound via CHOPPERS NORTH and remain N of the pipeline untilestablished within the control zone and in receipt of circuit entry instructions.VFR COMMUNICATIONS FAILUREa. Carry out Communication Failure procedures in an emergency.b. Track via the appropriate VFR approach point.c. Enter BK CTR at 1500’ and track to overhead the apt at that altitude.d. Ascertain landing direction and join the appropriate circuit for the rwy selected.e. The preferred rwy for landing should be the rwy nominated in the joining or sequencing instruction or thearrivals/departure rwy nominated on the ATIS.f. When ready, descend to circuit altitude remaining clear of the other circuit.g. Maintain separation from other acft.h. Proceed with normal circuit and landing.i.

A VFR acft departing into Class G airspace must depart the CTR on an extended leg of the circuit.b. VFR acft must advise departure intentions with READY call.c. Clearance for VFR acft to operate in the BK CTR and VFR acft departing into Class G will be issued on BKTwr freq.d. A take-off clearance constitutes a clearance to operate within the CTR or depart the CTR in accordance withthe intentions notified with the READY call.FIXED WING ARRIVALSCircuit entry altitude (Sunrise-Sunset): 1000; for Rwy 11, 1500’ for Rwy 29.VFR acft contact Bankstown Twr 132.8 at PSP or 2RN for clearance. Maintain the entry altitude until clearedVisual Approach followed by Traffic information on acft to follow. After landing remain on 132.8 until clear of all active rwys, then monitor SMC on 119.9.Request “taxi guidance” if required.

CHOPPERS WEST— Michels Patisserie located 1.2nm West of CHOPPERS NORTH on the water

pipeline.

CLASS D PROCEDURESCIRCUIT OPERATIONSWhen freq congestion or failure does not allow acft to obtain freq transfer instructions and the acft has beenassigned 1,500’ (sunrise-sunset) or 1,700’ (sunset-sunrise), acft should contact Jandakot Twr on 118.1 at 3NMJandakot.Circuit training operations are only permitted 0600-2230 LT Mon-Sat, 0800-1800 LT Sun.Circuit Directions During Tower Hours of Operation:

VFR PROCEDURESUnless otherwise instructed by ATC, a pilot must report Downwind when starting or entering the downwind legof the traffic circuit. If freq congestion prevents the call being made when starting the downwind leg, the pilotmust report Mid-Downwind or Late-Downwind as appropriate.ARRIVALSVFR acft inbound to Jandakot wishing to transit Perth controlled airspace, shall:a. Within 36NM of Perth, contact ACD on 132.95;b. Beyond 36NM and within 90NM contact Melbourne Centre 133.9;c. Beyond 90NM and within 160NM contact Melbourne Centre 125.2/133.9;d. Contact ATC at least 10NM prior to CTA/CTR entry point to confirm flight details and obtain clearance. Acftwhich have not lodged Flight Notification details may be subject to clearance delay or denial.DEPARTURESClearance for VFR acft to operate in the JT CTR and VFR acft departing into Class G will be issued on JT Twr freq.A take-off clearance constitutes a clearance to operate within the CTR or depart the CTR in accordance with the intentions notified with the ready call.During daylight hrs, all VFR acft are required to depart JT CTR into Class G airspace at an altitude of 1,000’.Departure Routes:a. Depart to the W and NW track via Murdock University to Fremantle Golf Course. When established over the Murdoch University open space, climb from 1,000’ and reach 1,500’ by the W boundary of the University. When Rwy 12 is duty rwy, depart by extending the downwind leg until clear of base and final traffic, then track via Murdoch University open space to FREM. Note: Caution - inbound traffic to the S on the Powerhouse to Adventure World track.b. Depart to the S via Yangebup Lake to Lake Thompson. When Rwy 12 is duty rwy depart to SE and SW by extending the right crosswind leg then track clear of FDL and the inbound route.c. Depart to the E via Armadale. When Rwy 30 is duty rwy, depart via a right circuit by extending the right downwind leg then track clear of final Rwy 30. Note: Remaim clear of Perth CTA and Forrestdale Lake.d. Acft departing via YGB and ARE should climb to an altitude above 1,500’ as soon as practical upon leaving Jandakot CTR and entering Class G airspace.During night, all departing acft may plan to track via preferred route at an altitude of 1,500’. Acft should consider alternative departure tracks if LSALT above 1,500’.

HELICOPTER OPERATIONSDEPARTURES / ARRIVALSUnless otherwise approved by ATC, all helicopters leaving or entering the Jandakot CTR shall comply withClass D procedures.Pilots shall nominate the helicopter landing site (HLS) they wish to use on initial contact with Jandakot Tower.HLS departures and arrivals shall be parallel to the duty runway unless otherwise specified by ATC.Practice auto-rotative landings are not permitted on HLS.Pilots must advise of the intention to conduct circuit training ops with the taxi or inbound call.

HELICOPTER TRAININGA helicopter training area has been established on the aerodrome within the area bounded by the Rwy 06R/24L, taxiway S and the airport boundary road. Training may be conducted out to the southeastern airportboundary subject to ATC approval.Helicopters proceeding to/from the training area are to obtain clearance to cross Rwy 06L/24R (when active)from Jandakot Tower (119.4 MHz).An auto-rotative landing area is identified by an asphalt aiming marker.Unless otherwise specified by ATC, the following conditions are applicable while operating in the training area:a. All operations shall be at least 100m from the runways and at least 50m from the windsock/ anemometer;b. All operations shall be limited to not above 200' AGL;c. Slope landing training may be conducted in the grassed drain on the southwest side of the training area

subject to ATC clearance.Training CircuitsCircuits may be conducted from the training area subject to the following conditions:a. Circuit altitude shall be 800';b. Circuits parallel to Rwy 24L or Rwy 12 shall be LEFT HAND;c. Circuits parallel to Rwy 06R or Rwy 30 shall be RIGHT HAND;d. Circuit size shall be such that all legs are flown inside the corresponding fixed wing circuit. A continuous

lookout for fixed wing traffic shall be maintained at all times.Once established on the appropriate Tower frequency, the only communication required is a "BECOMING AIR-BORNE" call prior to each circuit. ATC will not positively control take-off or landing or provide sequencinginstructions. Initial traffic information will be provided in respect to other helicopters conducting circuits.VFR Communications Failure ProceduresIn the event of a communication failure:a. Carry out communication failure procedures in an emergency.b. Continue to transmit intentions.c. Track via FDL or ADWD as appropriate.d. Enter the CTR at 1,500’.e. Proceed to overhead the apt at 1,500’.f. Ascertain Rwy(s) in use; descend to join the appropriate circuit at 1,000’ (remain clear of the other circuit).g. When parallel Rwy(s) are in use the appropriate rwy is Rwy 06L/24R.h. Proceed with normal circuit and landing, maintain separation from other acft.i. Watch for light signals from the Twr.

Outside Twr Hrs:a. Class C airspace above 1,500’ remains active.b. Standard Class D departure and arrival tracks should be used.c. Flights planned to enter PH CTR/CTA must obtain SSR code and ATC freq from PH ACD 132.95.d. Acft arriving Jandakot from Class G airspace but requiring clearance to enter PH CTA contact PH ACD 132.95 15NM JT for clearance.e. Max 5 acft may operate circuit training outside Twr hrs.f. Acft conducting circuit training outside Twr hrs should broadcast intentions downwind.g. Pilots requiring a clearance into Perth CTA/CTR, contact Perth ACD 132.95.h. Recommended fixed wing circuit altitude 1,000’.

Circuit Directions Outside Tower Hours of Operation:

NOISE ABATEMENTFly Neighbourly Flight procedures have been designed for Jandakot to minimize repetitive ops over residentialareas. Pilots can assist iby adopting rates of climb/descent which minimize noise over residential areas.a. Preferred rwys when Twr active are:

1. Rwy 06L/24R is most preferred for arrivals and departures.2. Rwy 06R/24L is preferred for circuit training and departure via ARE in Class G airspace.3. ATC will consider nominating an alternative rwy when the crosswind exceeds 12 kts sunrise-sunset or 10kts sunset-sunrise or when there is a downwind.

b. Repetitive formation circuits are not permitted;c. Repetitive low-level circuits are not permitted on Rwys 06L/24R;d. During the conduct of circuit operations, the size of the circuit flown should be kept as compact as

practicable. While pilots are urged to consider the impact of aircraft noise, this in no way should be the basis of any actionwhich could compromise safety.
