Nagarnaik, Deputy Director, Dr. S.B. Jaju, TEQIP Coordinator, Dr. S.S. Dorle, Training Coordinator, Dr. M.M. Khanapurkar, Head of the department, Dr. S.S. Salankar, Dean SAC & Dr. K.A. Akant, Coordinator of STTP along with all faculty members of the department.

Different brain storming sessions for enhancing the knowledge of speech processing were organized by the department containing the session on “Speech Coding” by Dr. Gaikwad, Principle BDCOE, Wardha along with session on “Emphasis on Research Methodology” by Dr. M.M. Khanapurkar, also the session on “Nature of Speech Signal and basics of Speech Processing” conducted by Dr. K.A. Akant, followed by session on “Linear Predictive Coding” by Dr. S.S. Salankar.

Department of CSE organized Workshop on IoT and Container Security

Along with ICISP-2015, Department of Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology have organized workshop on IoT security and Container Security by VM Ware Banglore on 11-12 Dec 2015.Trainers were Shwetha Lakman Rao, Vartika Agrawal and V. Kohli. Various topics covered were Docker Security Benchmark Hands on Lab session, VMware appcatalyst,

Photon, Project Bonneville, IoT and Security, IoT Helix Demo etc. 79 Students attended this workshop and benefitted. Coordinators of this workshop was Apeksha Sakhare, Archna Raut, Umesh Sakhare and Nisha Raote. Team worked very hard to make this workshop successful.

e-Yantra, IIT-Bombay organizes Robotics workshop “Introduction to Robotics” on 4-5 December at G.H. Raisoni College of

Engineering, Nagpur.

e-Yantra, IIT-Bombay organizes robotics workshop “Introduction to Robotics” at G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur(Nodal Centre) for faculties of engineering colleges in Nagpur/Amravati/Gondwana Region. e-Yantra – a project in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), IIT Bombay - is a flagship project of MHRD through the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT) to spread Embedded systems and Robotics education in colleges across India. The main objective of e-Yantra Lab Set-up Initiative (eLSI) is to assist technical institutes/colleges to set-up their own Robotics Lab. As a first step towards this Lab Set-up Initiative, a robotic workshop was organized. Total 68 faculty member from 17 institute participated in the workshop. The colleges who have given Letter of Intent(LoI) to e-yantra, IIT-Bombay receives robotic research kit FireBird V free of cost. Next step for Lab Set-up will be extended training and Task Based Training (TBT) which will be conducted online. Training on CNC Programming and Robotics for G H Raisoni Polytechnic

students

Department of Mechanical Engineering, GHRCE, has organized training program on Monday 28/09/2015 for the students of G H Raisoni Polytechnic, Nagpur. The topic of the training was CNC programming and Robotics. The session was conducted by Prof. Laukik P. Raut, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, GHRCE. Around 110 students were present during the training session. The complete program was divided into two parts i.e. theoretical and practical.

In first session the programming of CNC machines and robots were explained to the students which included the G codes and M codes and the basics of CNC machine and robot. In second session the practical were performed on the machine like CNC lathe and CNC milling machine. Few practical were performed by the students also.

The credit for the successful organization of training goes to Dr P R Bajaj, Director, Dr P V Walke, HoD, Dr. G Akhade, HoD, G H Raisoni Polytechnic and Laukik Raut, Assistant Professor, GHRCE, Nagpur.

Department of Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology, G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering has organized FirstInternational Conference on Information Security & Privacy 2015. ICISP 2015 proceedings will be published by Elsevier Procedia CS and technically Co-sponsored by Computer Society of India, ACM professional Chapter Nagpur and GHR Labs & Research Center Nagpur.

The ICISP 2015 will be larger in technical content and would be a unique opportunity for all Computer Science & Engineering research community who are specializing in these areas like Information Security and Privacy to come together and publish their research work.

Key note speakers were Suchita Sakalkale, ,Lead Business Systems Analyst/Scrum Master,Thomson Reuters, US Dallas and Dr. Chitra Desai, ,Professor, National Defense Academy, Pune, They have given talk on computer and cyber security.292 papers submitted by 553 authors, out of which we accepted 155, 119 papers are scheduled for presentation. Members Present: Dr. Prema Daigavane ,HOD Electrical department ,Dr. S.G. Tarnekar ,Prof .S.Umathe (Program Co-ordinator) “Parents Meet Cum Project Exhibition” for the academic year 2015-2016 was held in Electrical department at G-04 (III Floor), GHRCE on the 12th December 2015 from 10:30 am. to 12.30 pm. A welcome address was given By the Head of the Department Dr. Prema Daigavane. In her presentation the parents were given all the information regarding the department as well as teaching and evaluation scheme used. The parents were given an outlook on how the system is constantly endeavoring to achieve quality education. Our institute being a autonomous the syllabus is revived with changing technology.HOD also explained about the PO(Program outcomes) and CO (Course Outcomes). Parents were also given an opportunity to interact with department faculties were they got their queries cleared..The parents were divided into three groups and were taken into different rooms( D-16 ,C-22,C-15) were the projects were displayed.Hardware Project:-32 Software Project:-10.Dr.Preeti Bajaj ,Director GHRCE visited the rooms were exhibition was displayed. She appreciated the efforts put in by the students and motivated them to do project which can be filed for patent.

ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION ON 19TH Dec -15

As a part of activity under EPICS 2015-16, the Electrical Department is organized an Essay Competition on 19th December 2015, (Saturday) at W-34, W-35. Time - 3:00pm.The competition was graced by the presence of Dr. Prema Daigavane ,HOD Electrical department ,Dr. S.G. Tarnekar , Prof Amol Deshmukh Deputy director and Prof Vivek from humanities. The participants of the essay were given different topics such as “judiciary gave a fair verdict”, “Attitude and not aptitude decides ones altitude”, “glamour is a silver cloud with black lining”. The number of participants was 75 from 2nd

year third year and final year.

Electronics Department

Demonstration of Lecture and Practical by Faculty and GATE Students was conducted in department of Electronics engineering from 18/11/2015 to 20/11/2015 under the guidance of Dr. S. S. Dorle. Presentations were given by faculties on subjects to be teaching by faculties in forthcoming semester for one hour each. Demonstrations of practical’s were also given by

Fourth semester, M.Tech HPE student of Mechanical Engineering Department celebrated Christmas in Deaf & Dumb School, Shankar Nagar, Nagpur under ISR activity on 25/12/2015. Various gifts, note books, pen, etc. are distributed by students. And also for spreading awareness amongst the students about computers, solar systems, & other science related topics they played various games with students of Deaf &Dumb School. The Head Master of the school appreciated the efforts taken by ISR group members.

Dr. S. B. Jaju delivered sessions on overview of accreditation criteria, Graduate Attributes and Programme Outcomes (POs), Course Objectives and Course Outcomes (COs) mapping with POs and PEOs and Evaluation of PEOs and Pos. Almost 70 faculties were benefited by this workshop.

Prof. Bharati B. Sayankar from Electronics Engineering Department GHRCE attended CII "7th India Innovation Initiative - i3 National Fair 2015 at IIT Delhi, on 4th December 2015. Event was organized by Department of science & Technology,Government of India,All India Council for Technical Education & Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Her project “ Device free indoor positioning using visible light communication” was amongst the 76 shortlisted innovations out of 740 entries across India.The Fair was organized to recognize India’s Top innovator and potential entrepreneurs. She also explained her project at the fair. She also delivered a presentation in the department and shared her experiences at IIT Delhion 7th Dec 2015.The presentation was attended by 18 faculty members of the Department.
