Hope Never Gives Up

Have you ever felt like you wanted to give up? That hope was a dim light that grows dimmer with each passing moment of your life. You’re not alone. Everyone deals with hurts, habits, and hang-ups that burden our souls, trouble our hearts and clouds the vision of our hope. Even Bible heroes had their times they wanted to give up: Job, Moses, Elijah, Jonah, Jeremiah, and Peter come to mind. How we view and understand hope deeply influences our world view, our attitude, our hearts, our faith, our love and relationships. Ask yourself, “Where is my hope found and to whom is it founded on?” Regardless of the economy, natural disasters, the uncertainties we experience in life or what the future holds, God is never caught off guard or surprised by any of it. He knows the future and He who sits on the throne most high says, “I am making

everything new!”

Remember the promise the LORD made for His wayward people: “This is what the LORD says: When seventy years are

completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my gracious promise to bring you back to the place. For I know the

plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then

you will call upon me and pray to me and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your

heart.” Jeremiah 29:10-13 When God speaks His Word, there is hope. “So is my word that

goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I

sent it.” Isaiah 55:11

OPEN HOUSE - Sunday, January 28

Join us on January 28 (today for those picking up a bulletin during the worship assembly) during the 10:15 Bible Class hour for a Teenside Open House. We're hoping all of our teens and their families will join us for this time together. There are several things that are going to happen. We are going to enjoy breakfast together (thanks for all the breakfast finger foods you're bringing!), you have an opportunity to see the space we have been blessed with for our teens, we're going to hand out important calendars and information about our ministry...but most importantly, we're going to pray over this ministry. We're going to accept the challenge of this ministry together. If you've never been involved in Teenside, join us today. If you are already involved in Teenside, join us today!

WINTERFEST

Sign-ups have come and gone, but there are important things you need to know. First...You can pay online now! Go set up your account at Collegeside.org and you should see the link to pay for Winterfest. Second...We are leaving on Friday the 16th at Noon. If you can't come at noon, we need to know that ASAP as we plan for transportation. Be praying for a great weekend. We're excited about Winterfest!

Kidside

With great joy I can report that all teacher and helper roles have been taken for this semester. Forty-four servants are ministering to our children either on Sunday morning or Wednesday night. I thank each of you and pray God’s richest blessings flow through you again this semester.

I want to commend our college students. Not only are five of them helping on Wednesday night, but they have offered parents a night off on Valentine weekend. May we continue to grow together as we learn how to live as one family…
