Adding labels to

a layer

Right click on the map layer & choose labels (could set symbology first)

Choose field for the labels, font, colour etc. and apply...

If adding your own shapefile, ensure that you add a field, which could be called LABEL, to add an appropriate text label to the polygons / points /

lines that you are creating...This can then be selected as before to display the label values that you have

entered….
