  • ADDENDUM NO. 1

    BROADWAY SEWER SEPARATION

The following changes and additional information are hereby made a part of the Contract Documents. BIDDER QUESTIONS: Notice is hereby given that Addendum #1 provides clarification for questions asked by Bidders prior to the Bid Opening.

    1. Question: Is the contractor responsible for any street opening permits fees for this project or will they be waived? Answer: The Contractor is responsible for obtaining street opening permit. The fee for the permit will be waived

    2. Question: South Portland has a typical 3 year warranty for trench patch now. Will this apply seeing that the contract will only have a 1 year warranty? Answer: The City Street Opening permit establishes a three (3) year warrantee period. This warranty period is required by City Ordinance and applies to all street openings, regardless of the contract warrantee. The three (3) warranty is the Contractor’s responsibility and applies as a condition of the Contractor’s Street Opening Permit.

    3. Question: South Portland typically requires the contractor to grind and surface all trenches 1 year after the binder is placed to the top is this required for this project? Answer: The Owner will inspect compaction and conduct testing of the trench backfill and paving. The contractor will not be required to grind and re-surface the trench unless there is a failure of the pavement or settlement of the trench during the one year project warranty or the three (3) year street opening permit warrantee period.
