BIDS DUE: THURSDAY, MAY 28, 2020 BY 3:00PM Local Time to: County of Kenosha Clerk of the Courts - Attn: Rebecca Matoska-Menting located at the Kenosha County Courthouse, Room 204 912 56th Street Kenosha, WI 53140. At that time Bids will be opened publicly for consideration by the Owner. To all Contract Bidders of record. This Addendum is issued to modify, explain or correct the original Drawings and Specifications as noted below, and is hereby made a part of the Contract documents. Please attach this Addendum to the Specifications in your possession. Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in the space provided on the Bid Form. Failure to do so may subject Bidder to disqualification. This Addendum consists of (5) written pages, (1) sign in sheets, and (8) Attachments APPROVED MANUFACTURERS All the following Acceptable Manufacturer's products below must meet or exceed written specifications:
1. SECTION – 08 56 71 – BULLET RESISTANT HOLLOW METAL WINDOWS a. Chicago Bullet Proof Window Systems, Inc.
- CBP Model STW BR HM window with Speak-Thru and Non- Ricochet Dip Tray 2. SECTION – 08 14 29 – WOOD DOORS (PRE-FINISHED)
a. Chicago Bullet Proof Window Systems, Inc. - CBP Model WH BR Wood Haven Door and Frame.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
1. How many phases are necessary to complete this project? a. There are (4) phases to the project in (3) different areas. Phase 1 is the remodeling of the
small conference room in the Courthouse basement. Phase 2 is the new Juvenile Intake office remodel in the Courthouse basement. Phase 3 will be the DA remodel area on the first floor of the Molinaro Building and Phase 4 will be the enclosure of the existing relocated reception on the first floor of the Molinaro Building. All areas are indicated on sheet A001. The GC will be responsible for coordinating the schedule of moving in/out of these areas in accordance with the indicated phases.
2. Where will the dumpster and construction staging area be located for the project?
a. The dumpster will be located on the northside of the Molinaro Building parking lot for all phases of the project. Coordinate location with County.
3. Per sheet 2IT200, will there be a TV location indicated in conference 2111?
a. There is to be a TV location rough-in included for a future TV location on the East wall. Rough in will include blocking in the wall for a wall mount TV, (1) duplex outlet, and an HDMI run to the base of the wall. In addition, all TV locations are to receive (2) CAT 6 cables. All headend equipment will be provided by the owner. All final TV locations to be coordinated with the Architect before installation.

4. Per sheet 1IT200, will there be a TV location indicated in conference 1101? a. There is to be a TV location rough-in included for a TV on the North wall. Rough in will
include (1) duplex outlet, (1) Coax. In addition, all TV locations are to receive (2) CAT 6 cables. All headend equipment will be provided by the owner. All final TV locations to be coordinated with the Architect before installation. Coax cable for area 01 to be reused from Area 02. General contractor to be responsible for the cable function during the relocation process.
5. Drawing on sheet A002 only shows door Types LNL with Glass, However, page 1A201
notes type FG Door on the Door Schedule. Does this door have glass? If so, will it be ¼” Clear Tempered? a. Door 1101A will be a FG style door. Please see attached sheet A002 for FG door style
standards. Per Glazing specifications (08 80 00) the glazing will be ¼” clear tempered for door 1101A.
6. Sheet 2A201 notes a Type HG Door on Door Schedule. Is this door Half Glass? It also
has a X on glass. Is this ¼” Clear Tempered? a. Yes, this door will be half glass. See updated sheet A002 for HG door standards. In
addition, see attached sheet 2A201 for updated door schedule.
7. I am confused on finding the specifications for the new ductwork to be added. Where are the requirements? a. There will be no specification included with the project for HVAC. The scope of work is
shown on sheets 2M200 for area 02 and attached sheet 3M200 for Area 03. See the General Mechanical Notes on Sheet 2M200 & 3M200.
8. Do you have an estimated start and completion date?
a. The desired start and completion dates are listed on the Bid Offer Form. Per the Bid offer, desired start will be June 2020 and substantial completion on September 15th, 2020. If these dates cannot be met, please fill out your possible completion schedule per the form request.
9. Drawing Page A002 calls for Type B Frame to have a sidelite. I don’t see this frame
called out on any of the door schedules. Should this be excluded? a. All sidelites have been eliminated from the project. Please see attached updates sheet
A002 - WALL TYPES & TYPICAL DETAILS.
10. Drawing sheet 3A201 – Door Schedule for type 3100A calls for type F door (which has no glass on page A002) but in the remarks states to be bullet proof glazing. Please confirm. a. Door 3100A is to be solid door with no glazing. Remark for door 3100A should read,
“Solid core construction wood veneer faces, bullet-resistant composite core and solid 3/8 inch thick wood stile and rail edges of same species as veneer”.
11. Drawing Page 2A201, on the Room Schedule, 2100 West and 2101 East list GL-3.
Please confirm what is GL-3? a. GL-3 refers to bullet resistant glazing, Level III. However, all bullet resistant glazing and
wall panel is to be removed from Area 02. There is no bullet proofing in Areas 01 & 02. Area 03 is the only area to receive Level III bullet resistant construction.
12. Drawing Page 2A201, the Room Schedule also states GL-1 on some rooms. Please
confirm what that is? a. GL-1 refers to 1/4” Tempered Glass. See the Material Key on sheet A002 – WALL
TYPES AND TYPICAL DETAILS. The only rooms with GL-1 in Area 02, will be the west wall of Waiting 2100 and the East wall of Reception 2101. All GL-1 referenced in Office

2107, Multi-purpose Office 2108, Office 2109, Office 2110, and Conference 2111 to be excluded from the project.
13. Drawing Spec Section 088000 – Glazing – notes several different types of glass. Under
Part 2 – Products & 2.3 – Fabrication - it notes 3/8” clear or gray? Is this included? Tinted Glass? a. There will be no 3/8” thick glass required for this project. All non Bullet-Resistant glass to
be ¼” Clear tempered unless noted otherwise. Per sheet 2A201 frosted glass will be required at door 2100A. See updated sheet 2A201.
14. On Sheet 2A300 for Area 02 at detail 05, the reception (2) hollow metal frames they are
wanting just ¼” clear tempered and not Level 3 bullet resistant. Is that correct? Also, I cannot find in the specs what is the type of speak hole cover they require? a. The glazing in this area will be GL-1, 1/4” clear tempered glass. Area 02 will have no
Bullet Resistant construction. The speak hole in this area will be just a 4” diameter hole cut in the glass with a speak hole frame. Basis of design for the speak hole frame: CRL Aluminum Plastic Speak-Thru Hole Frame. Center of speak hole to be cut at 2’-0” off counter height as shown on sheet 2A300 detail 04. All holes in glazing even capped punctures to be polished finish.
15. Sheet 2A300 details 04 & 05 list a Voice Port and refers to specification section 08 80
00. Nothing is listed in the spec for this item. a. For the voice port in Area 02, refer to question #13 for basis of design.
16. Sheet 2A300 details 04 & 05 list a Pass Thru Tray and refers to specification section
08 80 00. Nothing is listed in the spec for this item. a. The pass thru tray in this area per elevations 04 & 05 will be an open section of the glass
window. Hollow metal frame trim around the opening is to be provided. Minimum opening dimension to be 4”(H) x 14”(W).
17. Sheet 3A300 details 02 & 03 list a Voice Port, Level III rated, spec section 08 56 71.
Nothing listed in the spec for this item. a. The basis of design for the voice port in Area 03 is the Armortex ANVS6 cast stainless
steel speaker. Description reads; “Natural voice Speak Thru provide voice transmission along with security. SSBRS models will fit into 4″ to 6″ diameter hole. 7″ Stainless Steel face plates are secured form the safe side to avoid tampering from the exterior. For ballistic levels 1 thru 3 UL listed laminated polycarbonate offsets face plates”. Specification section 08 56 71 is a performance-based specification and equal manufacturers meeting the UL level and design intent will be accepted after review by the architect.
18. Sheet 3A300 details 02 & 03 list a Pass Thru Tray, Level III rated, specification section
08 56 71. Nothing listed in the spec for this item. a. The basis of design for the voice port in Area 03 is the Armortex Deal Tray Non-Ricochet
RMDT-1016. Description reads; Transaction Deal Trays are rolled and formed from 16ga stainless steel with a #3 satin brushed finish and can be lined with HI-Hard ballistic steel to meet ballistic protection requirements. Recessed trays “RMDT” are designed to install into a cut out of 2″ high counters with a capped glazing cap running across top middle”. Counter top is provided by 06 61 00 and coordinated with recessed deal tray. Deal tray total dimension to be 10” x 16”. Specification section 08 56 71 is a performance-based specification and equal manufacturers meeting the UL level and design intent will be accepted after review by the architect.

19. Sheet 3A300 details 02 & 03 list Armortex Bullet Resistant Hollow Metal Window System UL Rated Level III rated spec section 08 56 71. Nothing listed in the spec for this item. a. Specification section 08 56 71 – BULLET RESISTANT HOLLOW METAL WINDOWS
Parts 2 – PRODUCTS provides the intent of design for the Bullet Resistant Hollow Metal Windows. Specification section 08 56 71 is a performance-based specification and equal manufacturers meeting the UL level and design intent will be accepted after review by the architect. See plans and elevations for window sizes.
20. What is the deck height for each area of work?
a. The deck height for Areas 01 & 02 is approximately 10’-2”. The deck height in Area 03 is approximately 9’-10” to the bottom of the concrete tee and 10’-10” at the top of the concrete tee. General Contractor to field verify all existing deck heights.
21. What are the available work hours for this project?
a. Building access will be available form 6AM – 5PM. 5PM the building closes and all work must be completed by this time. All loud work that could potentially interfere with the county court must be done prior to 8AM.
22. Who will be responsible for permit fees?
a. General contractors and sub-contractors will be responsible for all required city permit fees.
23. The drawings call for data to the TV locations, so just one data jack, no coax?
a. TV location in Area 01 to include (1) duplex outlet, (1) Coax. TV locations in Area 02 & 03 to include (1) duplex outlet, (1) HDMI. In addition, all TV locations are to receive (2) CAT 6 cables. All headend equipment will be provided by the owner.
24. Will the Card Reader at door 2100A remain or be removed?
a. Existing Card Reader at door 2100A is to be relocated to door 2100B. There will be no card reader at door 2100A. General Contractor responsible for the relocation of the existing card reader.
25. Who is responsible for the removal of the existing cubicles in Area 03?
a. The General Contractor will not be responsible for cubicle removal. Cubicle removal by owner. General contractor responsible to coordinate with moving schedule.
26. Per sheet 3IT200, will there be a TV location indicated in conference 3112?
a. There is to be rough included for a future TV location on the East wall. Rough in will include blocking in wall for wall mount TV, (1) duplex outlet, (1) Coax and an HDMI run to the base of the wall. In addition, all TV locations are to receive (2) CAT 6 cables. All headend equipment will be provided by the owner. All final TV locations to be coordinated with the Architect before installation.
27. Per sheet 2IT200, there is a dedicated 20 amp outlet and (2) cat 6 lines shown for a
copy print area, will this be required in Area 03 as well? If so, what is the location? a. There will be a copy print station on the West wall, North of Existing Conference 3112.
This location will include a 20 amp dedicated outlet and (2) cat 6 lines for a copy/print area. Final location to be coordinated with the Architect before installation.
28. There are some C2 locations on the print but no description in the Keynote Legend of
what they get, one voice and one data? a. The type of line in this case doesn’t matter. Each C2 location is indicating (2) cat 6 lines.

1. ALL DUCTWORK IS DIAGRAMMATIC AND COORDINATEDTO THE BEST AVAILABLE INFORMATION. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY STRUCTURE AND LOCATION OF OTHER TRADES PRIOR TO FABRICATION
2. LIMIT FIXTURE RUNS TO A MAXIMUM OF 5'-0" AND ROUTE AS STRAIGHT AS POSSIBLE.
3. SYSTEM SHALL BE BALANCED BY THE INSTALLING CONTRACTOR. BALANCE AIR FLOWS FOR GRILLES AND EQUIPMENT TO +/- 10% OF SCHEDULED AIRFLOWS. INCLUDE SYSTEM MANUFACTURER, MODEL, SERIAL NUMBER, RPM, HORSEPOWER, VOLTAGE, AMPERAGE, ETC. IN REPORTS. SUBMIT THE BALANCING REPORTS TO THE DESIGN PROFESSIONAL BEFORE A COMPLIANCE STATEMENT CAN BE SUBMITTED.
4. MECHANICAL LOW VOLTAGE WIRING SHALL BE BY THE HVAC CONTRACTOR.
5. COORDINATE DIFFUSER LAYOUT WITH LIGHTING LAYOUT.
6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE OWNER WITH WRITTEN INSTRUCTION FOR THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE SYSTEM AND EQUIPMENT.
7. THERMOSTAT LOCATIONS SHALL BE REVIEWED BY THE OWNER, TENANT AND CONTRACTOR BEFORE INSTALLATION. CONTROLS SHALL BE LOCATED 48" ABOVE FINISH FLOOR
8. PROVIDE VOLUME DAMPER AT ALL LOCATION WHERE NEW DUCT LEAVES MAIN TRUCK DUCT.
