This Addendum contains the following information and becomes a part of the Bid Package.

1 Pre-Bid Meeting minutes and answers to submitted questions.

2 Pre-Bid Meeting attendance sheet.

3 The Center A Warehouse (Item 3080) roof does not contain any skylights. Any references to the skylights in the Center A Warehouse specifications are deleted.

General Discussion

A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting was held with prospective bidders to briefly discuss the project description and to conduct a site visit. The following were the principal points of the discussion:

1. All questions should be submitted in writing. Any verbal correspondence is non-binding.

2. The bid opening date and time were reviewed.

3. The bid packages are available for digital download. A link will be sent to the prospective bidders upon request to the project manager. The engineering administrative assistant is out of the office at this time, thus all requests should be sent to the project manager.

4. Requirements to bid are listed in the package, but emphasis was placed on the requirement for bidders to possess one of the license classifications listed in the package with the Alabama Licensing Board for General Contractors.

5. All people working on the project within secured areas will be required to possess a valid TWIC card, Alabama State Port Authority (ASPA) Badge, and ASPA vehicle decal. All buildings are within the secured area of the ASPA facility, except for the International Trade Center and Adams Street Garage. The utilization of TWIC escorts for workers is prohibited. More information can be found on the ASPA website.

6. All items within Division I of the package must be completed and submitted with each bid.

7. A brief, but not all inclusive, summary of the scope of work was given. Note was made that the bid package references skylights within the Center A Warehouse; however, the Center A Warehouse does not have any skylights. Also, note was made regarding the Pier A South Cold Storage Warehouse requirements to replace all removed insulation in the same day.

8. Attention was called to Specifications Division III, SP-03, since some of the work is higher priority.

9. Man lifts were positioned at buildings without ladder access for use by any prospective bidders attending the meeting from out of town, however no attendees chose to utilize them. Man lifts will also be provided on the dates specified within the bid package for use with an appointment.

10. A site visit was made after the meeting. Two prospective bidders attended the site visit and visited the following locations at their choosing: Transit Shed – Berths 6, 7, 8; Pier A South Cold Storage; Berth E North Warehouse and Platform Cover; Transit Shed Pier B South; and South C Warehouse.

Attendees Questions:

Question 1: Is it permissible to paint the new metal siding on the Adams Street Garage to match the color?

Answer: Yes, painting the siding is acceptable.
